C77 - Xavier and Jace

Everyone gathered in the living room to talk, but I didn't take part in the discussion. "Sleeping with Dane, eh?" Xavier whispered. I looked up at him, remaining silent. He leaned against the table beside me and looked down at me. "It's not what it sounds like," I told him, giving in. He slightly nodded, fiddling with the sleeves of his sweater. "What is it?" I whispered. "Nothing," he answered, shrugging his shoulders. I scoffed slightly, obviously, it's something. 

For once we didn't have to worry too much about Dane and the others hearing our conversation, they were busy this time. "Jace's usually quicker than this, but I'm sure he's just making sure that everything goes as planned," Xavier said, looking away from me. "I spoke with him," I answered in a whispering tone. My sentence caught Xavier's attention immediately. "When was it?" he mouthed. "Today." His face lit up and for the first time, I got to see his real smile that wasn't a cheeky smirk. "I wouldn't be too caught up in Jace saving you, Xavier. We know that he's here," Hayden interrupted our conversation. Xavier's smile dropped, but he remained calm. "You good vampires always tell people to keep their hopes up, am I now wrong for doing that all of a sudden?" Xavier asked, raising an eyebrow. Hayden shook his head and looked at Xavier as if he was stupid for believing in Jace. "It's like you think we can't love someone," Xavier scoffed. "What you and Jace have isn't love, Xavier," Hayden scoffed back. "Wait, you're romantically attracted to Jace?" I asked quickly. I never saw that one coming... "Wow, you haven't understood that before now? I guess expressing feelings isn't my thing then."
