    -Jace's point of view-

Alex was staring down at the map, focusing on the moving dot - Valerie. "Watching that dot won't get her back," I said, breaking the silence. "Telling me that won't make me go after her," he answered, calmly. It's so easy for Hayden to kill both Alex and Valerie, yet all Alex does is watch. He won't feed, move, nor properly answer anyone...

"You've had it under control for years, why are you giving up the second it gets tougher?" I asked. He turned around for the first time in hours, only to look at me judgingly. "Who are you to blame me?" he raised his eyebrows. "I may be evil, selfish and arrogant, but I wouldn't make the same mistake you made." "That's such bullshit. You turned Xavier and now you're dating," he scoffed. "I turned him, yes, but I fell for him for real. At first, I had to be with him, and we kept it neutral, but then it all changed. It wasn't forced anymore, it was just right. As much as I dislike Valerie, you did her wrong." "Right, maybe I should've thrown her in the basement and locked her up forever, you know, keeping it neutral," he suggested sarcastically. "You could've watched her from distance, then you wouldn't have been in this mess. Think about it, it's easier to remain immoral and focused in situations when you're not in love with the one who's keeping you alive." "She was lonely, fragile and reckless. Anything could've happened, therefore I stuck around. It just happened," he answered in defence. "Yeah, you're right, Alex. Anything could've broken her, but ironically, it'll be you who does such. Whatever, I really don't care about her anyway."
