I couldn't think of a title. So the oc book is underway just in case you were looking forward to it. Bye.

The team had been in combat training when Superboy finally decided to ask his question that he had longed to ask. Kaldur and Wally were fighting with Kaldur clearly winning over the overly confident red head. No powers were allowed so Wally couldn't just run around him or punch him at lightening fast speed. M'gann wasn't particularly into this type of training and preferred to watch with Black Canary. Artemis was smirking as Kaldur took out Wally's ankles, causing him to hit the floor. A ring popped up behind his body and a woman's voice called out "Kid Flash: Fail." Connor was standing on the side line waiting for his turn with Robin. Out of everyone here, Robin stuck out like a sore thumb. He was the youngest and presumably the weakest. Connor couldn't wrap his head around why they all let the young boy fight with them. Logically it didn't make sense even if he had years of experience in Gotham.

"Robin, why are you here?" he asked finally, thinking this seemed like a good time. The young hacker looked up at him slightly confused with a peaked eyebrow. "Because training is mandatory?" he replied, not knowing if that was the answer the clone desired.

"No, I mean why are you on the team?" The clone asked with a slight tone of annoyance.

"Is this a joke?" Robin asked, not entirely sure how else to answer. Wally and Kaldur stopped fighting to hear the conversation. They were both interested in what the clone was trying to get out of Robin. "You're young and have no powers. So, why are you on the team if you're just a kid?" Connor asked. Wally shook his head at him, signalling for him to stop. Wally knew that Robin was sensitive about people underestimating him. He got it in his personal life and his hero life. The red head hoped that Connor had asked Robin this question on a good day for the raven haired teen. "Dude, you've seen me in action. Why would you think I'm just some kid?" Robin asked, trying not to feel offended. He knew the clone didn't mean much harm by what he said but it still stung. "Compared to all of us, you're weak." The clone explained.

Black Canary knew this was going to end badly. Robin always struggled with that word. He hated it with a passion. "Connor, Robin is not weak," she said in a calm voice. Robin had tensed up and his hands were in tight fists. "You think I'm weak? You don't even know what I do every night. I'm anything but weak." Robin replied, his voice dangerously low. "Really? I could snap you like a twig. Any of us could beat you. So how come anyone lets you fight?" Connor asked. Little did he know Robin was on stage two on his three stages of anger. Level one was ignore, level two was tense up and speak out and level three was hurting the problem. Wally, Kaldur and Black Canary could see the warning signs but the others didn't. "You don't know what you're talking about." Robin muttered. Connor pressed on. "I do. Face it, you're only here because everyone is sorry for you and no other reason." That was it. The last straw had been drawn. Robin grabbed the super's hand and threw him onto the floor. Connor lay on the floor, a surprised expression on his face. "Don't ever say that! You don't know me or anything about who I am! I've been through hell and back! I didn't do that so I could be picked on by a b-tech Superman!" he yelled. "I am not some charity case!" He ran to his room in the mountain. There was no point in going back to Gotham. He just wanted to punch a wall, which he did on his way to his room.

Connor still hadn't moved and could feel his team's states on him. A new feeling he hadn't experienced before rose up in his chest. "What the hell was that for?" Wally shouted, driven by the protective instinct he had for his best friend. Robin was like a little brother and he wasn't going to let anyone hurt him. "I just asked a question. I didn't mean to hurt him," Connor replied, getting up. He didn't feel the pain of hitting the hard concrete floor but he could feel the pain of hurting his friend. "Well you did! You could see he was getting upset but you had to keep pushing! You want an answer? Robin is the strongest person I know, that's why he's here!" Wally exclaimed. Kaldur nodded in agreement. "If we didn't have Robin, we wouldn't be here right now." Artemis added. Robin helped her more than anyone else and felt a sisterly protectiveness over him. "I just wanted to know. I understood why you were allowed here but he was an enigma," he explained, trying and failing to bail himself out.

"It isn't your place to ask those types of questions. The League and I wouldn't let him out there if we thought he wasn't right for the job. I know this didn't come from a hurtful place but you need to apologize." Black Canary told him. He nodded and felt especially guilty when he saw M'ganns disappointed face.

As he walked down the hall, Connor thought over what he was going to say. Surely he hadn't the little bird that much, had he? He knocked on the door lightly. "Connor, leave it." Robin said through the door. He was sitting on his bed wiping the tears he let fall. He thought he'd finally got past that point with his friends but that was clearly a wrong thought. "No. I can't leave it. I didn't mean what I said. I'm sorry," he apologized. The iron door slid open and Robin stood in the doorway with a small smile. "Thanks Connor. I'm sorry if I hurt you by the way." he replied.

"I just got a little angry. We both know about anger, huh?" he added. Connor gave him a little smile and felt the weird feeling go away. "I guess we do." Robin hugged him and laughed at his friend's face. "That's the same face you made when you were on the floor. I surprised you, didn't I?" Robin asked, his grin growing. Connor let out a defeated chuckle.

"You did," he admitted. They walked back and Connor felt like the connection between them was stronger. He also knew he should never anger the little bird again, just in case he had a certain glowing green rock.
