犬飼 彩葉
student no. 29
season 2 episode 16-17
It was easy to get back to the flow of things, to pretend that everything's alright and that nothing ever happened during the break.
Well, what wasn't easy though, was to act as if we were fine after hearing our teacher confess to us about his past.
"So...What?" Terasaka broke the ice, "It ain't like you to be callin' us all together like this, Nagisa".
"There's something I'd really like to discuss" the blue eyed boy admitted.
"What is it?" Hara asked in a motherly tone.
"I don't know if it's even possible," Nagisa trailed off, "but I want to find a way to save Korosensei's life".
I didn't like where this was going.
"Save it?" Masayoshi asked.
"You mean a way to keep Korosensei from exploding come March?" Mimura clarified.
Okano spoke up as well, "Where do we start?".
"I don't know yet" Nagisa answered. "I don't know, but..."
"I'm in!" Kurahashi raised her hand. "I wanna look for tons more creepy-crawlies with Korosensei".
"Kurahashi-san..."
"If you hadn't said something, Nagisa, I would have" Kataoka walked forward. "I want to repay him".
"Our assassination work had gotten us far enough" Hara agreed.
"Let's tackle a whole new challenge!" Sugino cheered.
"Like launching a new series!" Fuwa said.
"We'll regret it if we don't" Okano added. "We should do what we can, at least".
"You guys..." Nagisa sighed in relief.
"Amen to that Okano!"
Like I thought. I really didn't like where this was going.
"I hate to spoil the mood but... I'm against the idea" Nakamura stated firmly.
I took a glance at Karma who didn't look too happy about it either.
"Huh?" The group who bundled up in the middle looked back at her.
"Our bond is one of assassin and target. Korosensei said as much. And I really treasure the bond we've built over this past year. But that's exactly why I think we have to kill him" she told them.
"Nakamura-san..." Nagisa looked at her in awe. "You're against it?".
"You say you wanna save him, but how, exactly?" Terasaka's squad stood up.
"B-But---".
"It's not like we haven't thought about it!" Yoshida countered.
"But, what if time runs out before we find a way?" Muramatsu argued.
"You think that octopus'll be happy, havin' such half-assed students, comin' to such a half-assed ending?" Terasaka continued.
"---B-But isn't it it at least worth consid---" Nagisa was about to retort when Karma cut him off.
"It's always the talented ones mistakenly thinking everything'll go their way" the red head said, venom laced his voice. "Hey, Nagisa-kun, aren't you getting a tad full of yourself?".
"Huh?" Nagisa wondered naively.
I looked back at the redhead , finally figuring why he seemed so on the edge when we got here.
"Here you are, the most gifted assassin in the E Class, and you're suggesting we just quit this assassination?" Karma walked forward until he was faced to face with Nagisa. "What about the talentless students, who've still been trying their hardest to kill him?".
"To put it in another way, it's like a hot woman telling a bunch of homely ones they should all quit trying so hard to find boyfriends" he continued.
"T-That's not what I..." Nagisa defended. "Besides, when it comes to assassination, you're way better than me".
"You saying that just ticks me of even more" he spat, rubbing the back of his head. "Isn't it more like you're the worst at understanding how the less powerful feel?".
"No! That's not it" Nagisa exclaimed. "I'm being honest with my feelings! Do you hate Korosensei? We saw that movie with him... and had all kinds of fun!".
"That's just it! That octopus put everything he had into making a fun classroom that wouldn't turn out lazy losers like you!" He shouted.
It wasn't like Karma to lash out like this.
"This classroom couldn't exist if our bloodlust were blunted! Can't you see all his hard work? Or do you have a little-kid's brain to match your body?".
I jumped down the tree I was on, seeing as where this was heading. Nagisa's bloodlust heightened, it didn't take a genius to figure that out.
"Oh?" Karma looked at him provokingly, and the second they locked eyes I knew he'd snap.
"Huh? What's with that look? An itty-bitty mouse like you, defying a human?" Karma gave off a deadly aura.
I could feel his blood boiling even from where I stood.
"I just..." Nagisa muttered, only to be pushed back by Karma.
"Got something to say? How about you say it after beating me in a fight for once?" the redhead threatened. "I'll gladly take you on. Bring it.
"C'mon"
"C'mon!"
"C'mon!" he pushed each time he spoke, grabbing Nagisa by the tie the last time he did.
It was then when Nagisa surprised all of us. Jumping on Karma and wrapping his legs around his neck whilst holding the same hand that grabbed his tie. Karma pushed Nagisa on the ground, hard.
"A-A flying triangle choke!" Terasaka exclaimed.
I finally knew where Karma was coming from. It must've been frustrating.
Veins were evident on his face. I never thought I'd see the sly prideful bastard with this much rage plastered on his face.
"I..." Nagisa shouted, "am not going off half-assed!"
"When did Nagisa learn that?" Fuwa had her mouth agape.
"Still..." Masayoshi noted. "He's no match for Karma in combat".
"Why, you..." Karma had his fist ready, as he stood up, the boy still holding on to him with all his might.
"Stop that!" Maehara and Isogai interfered, locking on Karma and breaking the two apart.
"What the hell are you two trying to prove?!" Isogai shouted, holding Karma with all that they've got. The red head wouldn't stop trashing around though.
"Urgh! This guy is crazy strong!" Maehara complained.
Sugino on the other hand, was all it took to hold back Nagisa.
"Dammit! Chill out already!", Maehara had been thrown of this time, I took my chance to grab a hold of Karma, with the other two that held him back.
"Iroha-chan..." I could hear Okuda call out to me as I hugged Karma tightly.
"Step out of this!" he lashed on me.
"Don't waste your energy on stupid shit like this, first!" I shot back.
Even if it was a tad bit, a part of him calmed down, it was then the octopus decided to interfere.
"A junior high fight? Most excellent!" he cheered. "But! This classroom is based on assassination, shouldn't you decide things with these?".
Our teacher held up a riffle and hand gun.
Now the instigator's trying to meditate?!, was probably what was on everyones mind as they looked at him either irritatedly or surprisedly.
He gave us two options: Blue or Red.
To kill or not to kill.
I took a glance at Karma and another at Nagisa, knowing these two won't settle it so easily.
What should I choose?
