犬飼 彩葉
student no. 29
season 2 episode 12
"It's because you're weak that you want to become stronger".
I stared at the octopus in front of us, recalling the principal's old words. My thoughts continued to go after me as if they meant to haunt me.
Then, how come he's been insisting on his teaching principles? How come he's teaching the strong to step on the weak to earn even more strength?, I started to think.
"Now then, class," Korosensei announced gathering our attention. "I'll be returning your compiled exam papers".
"Did your second blades manage to reach their targets?" He asked.
Come to think of it, it was about time we got the results of the exams. And thinking about it, it was Karma who'd most likely get first place. Right, it'll probably Karma, the redhead I haven't spoken to in more than a couple of weeks.
Gah, why is life so problematic?
"No grumbling about a point here or there, now" the octopus warned us, placing each of our papers on our desks with Mach speed.
I didn't have the guts to look at my paper, so I folded my scores over as if it would make things a little less difficult.
"Were your scores this time good enough to get you into the top fifty overall?" the octopus babbled, "The main campus will be posting the overall ranks right about now, so let's start with the ranks here in E Class, too".
He rolled out the rankings presented on the board.
SECOND END OF TERM EXAM: TOP 50
, the header read. As soon as I saw the names, I immediately searched for the lowest one,
46: Terasaka Ryoma
"I-I--- I'm 46th?!" Terasaka spoke up.
"Isn't Terasaka dead last in E Class?"
"If Terasaka came in 46th..."
"Then that means..."
"We did it!" everyone cheered.
"We pulled down the Big Five in the battle for top spot, too--- practically a perfect win!"
1: Akabane Karma
2: Asano Gakushu
2: Inukai Iroha
3: Nakamura Rio
4: Isogai Yuma
5: Takebayashi Kotaro
6: Kataoka Meg
7: Kanzaki Yukiko
8: Sakakibara Ren
"And first place is Karma for once!"
I heard Karma let out a sigh of relief, and so did I.
I didn't completely beat Gakushu, but it was worth the achievement.
"How does it feel, Karma-kun, to go after that first-place rank on such a high-level battle ground and win?" our teacher asked him.
"Um, whatever, I guess" Karma looked away, a tint of red on his cheeks, flattered by the comment.
"It seems your battle against the perfection-boasting Asano-kun came down to that final math problem" Korosensei told him.
"About that... I'm not sure exactly why, but I don't think I could've solved it if I hadn't spent this year with you all. That's the kind of problem it was" the redhead said. So even he thought so, huh?
The class continued to chatter.
"It sure was a slog getting to this point, though, huh?" Maehara sighed.
"Our most fervent wish---after a successful assassination, anyway!" Yada smiled.
"We really did beat the A Class!" Okano said in relief.
"We can go to our first-pick schools!" Mimura agreed.
"Girls will be throwing themselves at us!" Okajima cheered.
"Go, us!" Maehara continued.
"Yay! Girls everywhere!"
"Feels like a final episode to me" Fuwa said.
"Hey! It can't end yet!" Hara reprimanded.
My attention was soon averted when I felt an arm on my shoulder, I then looked at the redhead.
"Eh~ All that said though, what happened, Iroha-chan?~" Karma reminded, in attempt to tease me.
"It's pretty commendable that she tied with Asano, though" Kayano tried to calm me down with her comment.
"Oya oya?" Nakamura smirked, noticing the tension.
I blushed crimson, putting the blame on the red head.
"I-I w-wouldn't get distracted if you ha-hadn't done t-that, y-you know!!!" I stammered, reminding him of the kiss.
He blushed as well, covering his face so that no one else notices, "Why are you bringing that up now?".
"It's your fault, *Bakabane! Dumbass" I stuck my tongue out, as we continued to bicker like the old days. (*t/n: Baka(idiot) + Akabane)
The entire class giggled.
"We don't know what that's about but," Nagisa told us, "It's great that you two are getting along again".
"Are not!" Karma and I said in unison.
"I'm just consoling Iroha-chan, since she seemed so down that I beat her" Karma smirked, defending himself.
I immediately came up with a hasty comeback.
But there it was, the feeling of dread in my gut. What's going to happen to Asano?

With everyone back in their seats, our teacher turned to ask us, "Alright, students, you've formally received your qualifications to move out of the E Class. So, is anyone looking to leave this mountain?".
"Of course not!" Maehara told him, as if it was an obvious choice.
That said, everyone was pretty hyped to have our weapons and gears out again.
"We found our second blades--- this is when it gets serious!" Mimura added.
Kataoka smiled, "What other environment is this suited to an assassination?".
The octopus looked at us proudly, "Gluttons for punishment, eh? Then for your reward this tine, I'll tell you my weakn---".
It was a sudden crash that interrupted Korosensei's monologue. And the next one made it seem like the world shook.
Earthquake?
No, I don't think so but, I've got a bad feeling about this, I told myself.
The female representative ran to check outside. "The school building!" She exclaimed as soon as she opened the door at the doorway.
Everyone slid the classroom windows open, to see what was going on.
"Prepare to vacate the premises" a voice said.
"Principal Asano!".
The chairman explained the situation to us, with an air of pride surrounding him, "The Board made the decision this morning: We're tearing down this old campus building today. I'll have you move to the campus of our affiliate school opening next school year. Until graduation, you will help us performance-test the building".
"A new campus?!" Muramatsu exclaimed.
The principal continued to speak to us, elaborating on his plan, "With a surveillance system and an anti-escape system drawn from correctional facilities, they can study in an environment akin to a more civilized prison. The new E Class: the culmination of my educational theories".
Nagisa asked, "B-But moving us now?".
"No way! We wanna graduate from this campus!" Sugino immediately argued.
Korosensei faced him himself, "You'll carry out your educational vision to the very end, won't you?".
"Indeed. But make no mistake: you are no longer useful to my education" Gakushu's father held a paper in front of him, "And this... This is where I kill you".
Terasaka wondered, "What's that thing he's holding?".
"Probably a notice of dismissal..." I guessed.
Isogai tried to look at it closer, "Korosensei's walking papers?!".
"He actually went there... He played his forbidden ace in the hole!" Maehara said, as surprised as we all were.
This isn't good, huh?
Korosensei's Weak Point #31: Downsizing
"That's a wrongful dismissal!" the octopus countered in a flustered manner.
"It works hilariously well on this octopus" Sugino side-tracked.
"Can a super-creature even stage a protest?" Nagisa asked.
"And so you won't jump to any conclusions, this is nothing but a tool to control my target. I have come, Korosensei, to kill you once and for all" the chairman continued.
"You are no longer necessary for my education, you see".
Isogai looked bewildered, "Are you serious?"
Karma spoke up himself, turning to the Chairman, "I know you're a superhuman and all, but our octopus won't go down quite as easily as you think".
I was pretty sure, he caught how edgy I was for a moment.
"Hold off the demolition for now. I have some work to do inside" the Principal halted the workers before heading into our building.
