Azalea and I were walking at our slowest through the mall on a lazy saturday afternoon. They had already started playing christmas music  and selling red and green cookies.

"So what's the deal with this Zeke guy?" Azalea asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked, digging my nails into my palm, hoping she didn't suspect or know anything about the files.

"You, know, about his dad working for.. Those guys," She lowered her voice at the last bit, probably not wanting any one to get too suspicious.

"Oh, I don't know. I haven't found out much yet." I said, which was partly true, I really didn't know much about him.

Azalea nodded, acknowleding it.

"Do you think he could be any harm?" She asked, this time a bit worried.

"To be honest, I highly doubt it," I decided.

"You think?"

Yeah," I stated.

"Well that's a bit of a relief." She sighed.

"Why? You're not worried are you?"

"I don't know, I just have this uneasy feeling at the back of my head," She disclosed.

"Maybe you're still shakey from your experiance with Mr Hensus," I reckoned, "But it's over now."

The last bit I knew was anything but true, this was anything but over, it was just the beginning, but this was my battle, not Azalea's.

"Maybe," She agreed.

We walked on for a while in silence, glancing at the shops full of fancy outfits and candies.

"I remember him a bit," Azalea spoke unexpectedly.

"Who?"

"My dad,"

"Really?"

"Yeah.. But not much, it's all blurred, kind of like how you remember a dream. I remember his ocean blue eyes and blonde hair, and his celebrity-like smile on a warm summer's day. We used to make home made mango ice cream and eat them in a picnic, just the three of us... That's it. I try to remember more but I can't, it's like there's a barrier in my head that doesn't let me go any further than that."

"It will come with time, bit by bit, all your memories will return to you," I assured.

"I hope."

After we made sure we went to every shop and stopped by every candy stand. Azalea and I parted ways and decided to go home.  I kept my hands tucked in my pockets because I had forgotten my gloves and my blood was literally freezing. As I neared my house, I noticed a familar car parked outside, not my dad's. It was Auntie Aasiyah's car. I rushed inside and the warmness of the house hugged my face and bare hands.

"Auntie Aasiyah!" I called, taking off my coat and hanging it in the coat closet.

"Maydah," My Aunt smiled seeing me. "Yes, I made lunch," She grinned before I could ask.

"I can't wait to eat your famous food!" I exclaimed. Although I had eaten only an hour ago, I was still hungry enough to eat a whole camel!

The warm food was amazing and my grumbling stomach was now silent.

"Maydah I got to run," Auntie Aasiyah said looking at her watch.

"Sure, thanks for stopping by, and the food was amazing as usual!" I grinned.
