Prosopis affinis is a species of flowering tree in the pea family, Fabaceae, that is native to Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Common names include algarrobillo, espinillo, ibopé-morotí, and ñandubay. It is threatened by habitat loss.
A sweet wand wood in nature, and bearing some visual similarities in grown appearance to Quebracho, Ñandubay makes for a somewhat stubborn wand wood, though still not a particularly common one. As a wand wood, it is not used enough for a proper understanding of its preferences, though it does like to choose those who emerge unexpectedly from certain situations - those who respond to an unfair or abusive upbringing with cheerfulness, or those treated well and properly responding with malice, for no reason beyond their own nature. Due to its preference for sweet and kindly personalities, Ñandubay wands tend to seek those who turn out positive and well, especially when cored with Alicanto Feather or Unicorn Hair.
