Yucca is a genus of perennial shrubs and trees in the family Asparagaceae, subfamily Agavoideae. Its 40–50 species are notable for their rosettes of evergreen, tough, sword-shaped leaves and large terminal panicles of white or whitish flowers. They are native to the hot and dry parts of the Americas and the Caribbean.

A somewhat explosive wand wood, wands made of Yucca tend to add sparks and small flourishes to any spells cast unless in the hands of a wizard with exceptional control. Yucca wands tend to choose cleanly and often take simple neat shapes when carved unless given a rather flamboyant wand core. When in the hands of a focussed and clever wizard, Yucca wands are loyal helpmates, and bond strongly, often "wilting" with their master's death.
