Macadamia is a genus of four species of trees indigenous to Australia, and constituting part of the plant family Proteaceae. They are native to north eastern New South Wales and central and southeastern Queensland. Three species of the genus are commercially important for their fruit, the macadamia nut, with a total global production of 160,000 tonnes in 2015. Other names include Queensland nut, bush nut, maroochi nut, bauple nut, and Hawaii nut. In Australian Aboriginal languages, the fruit is known by names such as bauple, gyndl, jindilli, and boombera.

Native to Australia and introduced to Hawaii, Macadamia is a richly colored wood, wands are quite unusual, and not especially popular, due to an unfortunate tendency to backfire, especially when given a dragon core. In firm hands, however, Macadamia wands are excellent helpmates and surprisingly skilled at charms and similar spellwork. Macadamia wands are commonly isolated and suit wixes similarly so.
