Unworthy ~Abi

They barge into the room as though it's their business to charge me.

My heart turns in dread as I stare at their "holy" faces.

I watch in stunned fear as mottled faces storm towards me and my lover.

I protest through embarrassed tears.

"Holy" hands grip my naked arms dragging me out of bed.

I pleaded, tears soaking my voice.

I am dragged in the streets naked.

Rabi's proclaiming me "the greatest sinner"

Children are pushed behind mothers in fear my sin will rub off on them.

A mistake makes me a disease.

Women stare and spit.

Men laugh.

I am now unworthy.

My friends turn in disgust.

"Unworthy," fills their whispers.

I am dragged into the temple.

Why do I even enter the steps of the temple? Aren't I unworthy?

They throw me in front of a crowd where the Master sits.

The Holy One

I am naked.

I am bruised.

I am Unworthy

Yet they throw me in front of all the people waiting for me to proclaim my sin.

To be put death.

I stand there and the "Holy" men proclaim in front of all my disease, my unworthiness.

I look to all except the Master for I now He is on THEIR side, but all I find is judgment.

They are eager to kill.

Stones are in gripped in their judgemental hands.

I wait for the pain.

For the reminder of my unworthiness.

But it never comes.

My eyes watch in awe as the Master defends me and stones began to drop into the dirt.

One after the other.

Clunk, clunk, clunk, clunk...

My hands began to shake in disbelief.

My eyes shed thankful tears.

My accusers left me.

My judges went home.

The Master comes to me with kind eyes and a loving smile, but I don't find creepy.

He told me that I was forgiven!

I WAS WORTHY!

His words comfort me.

His words break the chains that hold me down.

The chains of sin.

His words ring in my head.

I am worthy...

HELLO! I have no idea what you think of this poem, but the purpose of this poem was to tell a story of a woman who was very real! I don't know her name, but she existed.

I got the idea from a story in John 8:1-11 (In the Bible) it show's God's forgiveness. Back in those times committing adultery was "The Greatest Sin" which meant those people had to be put to death.

ANYWAYS, I could go all nerd on you and be really boring and rant everything I learned doing research for this poem! YES! I do research for a poem. *Nervous laughter*

I hope all of you lovely's have an amazing day! Just remember that we are always here and love you!

God loves you! God bless! BYE!
