Aro stared, for the longest time he stopped and stared. What had he done? How could he have harmed someone he loved so entirely? He loved Attarah more than he loved himself, more than he loved his riches and the world he'd created for himself. He had changed her ruined her, tainted her and broken her. She'd put herself back together again but she was not the same, she no longer was the beautiful innocent girl they'd taken from Washington. She was a fiery female that had changed to suit their liking.

As Aro let his hand slap across the side of her face, the strength lost momentum in the swing. He would kill her, he knew so he loosened his strength and she clattered to the floor. Damn nearly flying into the wall. How could she suggest leaving him? He couldn't bare to lose her and he'd hurt or kill anyone that tried to take her away from him. Even if it was him.

Blood dripped from her mouth as she stared up at him, trickling down her chin form her lips as she stared at him. For a moment, she looked like a vampire and Aro was stunned. The blood filled his nose, it twisted Within  his scenes. Never had he smelt a scent so pure, a flavour so exotic and taunting. His legs gave way and he felt himself lose control of himself. He no longer controlled himself, his former part returned. The Aro he'd long since repressed, his newborn nemesis that lived within him. His second self that crept through his form. He was a broken man, split into two parts with different morals.

Attarah watched as Aro fell, shredding his hands into the rug, clawing the floor as his face crinkled and he looked up, his eyes the blackest ebony. He stated like a predator at her and her attraction fell away. The man before her was not her mate, she was mated to the other side, to Aro, not his vicious second side.

"Aro?" she whispered. He was in there somewhere, the creature growled and made it's way toward her as her voice got caught in her throat. The Kings knew about Aros conflicting personality but they had never imagined the leader King would let it free, Aro had not released that side of him in nearly eight hundred years but there he was and within the next moment, teeth shredded flesh.

No one will ever love you - Rennee

They are vicious - Bella

They can't be trusted - Edward

Love brings out the best... And worst in people. - Carlisle

One day, a love will consume you. But keep that strength Atty - Charlie.

As fear flooded her and the pain began to feel like little more than an ache, her family came to mind. Her thoughts swirled as she recalled, she'd been warned. They had told her. She couldn't let them win, she refused to allow anyone to know her king to be evil. Aro was her mate and she wouldn't allow a phoney wearing his body take over. She would save herself and not just for her, she'd do it for Caius and Marcus who needed her and for Aro who would die with the fact that he was the one who killed her. This beast was not her Aro.

With all the life still within her, little Attarah screamed. She ripped her own heart out as she poured her pain into the sound which escaped her. Something snapped within Aro, his need to protect her marched forth and his villainous second side cowered away, Aro promised to kill the one which caused the pain of his mate, he however did not know that it was him. Coming to his senses, Aro saw his mate in his arms, dying painfully in his cold grip and he felt her blood slide through his lips.

All moved in slow motion as the realisation came to him. Caius and Marcus crashed through the door and froze in agony at the sight. Marcus screamed in pain as Caius roared in anger. The blond king grabbed his brother and slammed him against the wall. "what did you do?!" He screamed. "what did you do?!!!!" He reaped over and over, his screams turning to sobs.

"Caius" Marcus sobbed as he cuddled Attarah into his arms. "it was him" he referred to the demon within. Aro screamed and sobbed in pain, in a way that none had even seen.

"sirs, she will die if you do not hurry!" Jane informed in a frenzy of fear and yells from the doorway.

"Run Marcus" and he surely did so. Never had Marcus ran in so much pain and in so much fear. Never had he ran so fast. He had to save her, she was all he had and he could not enable her to die within his arms. He was giving his human mate to the humans in the chances that they would save her. They would surely do more good than the Kings. Attarah could not be a vampire yet. She was not ready.

Nor was she ready to die.
