Attarah was awoken by a cold rocking through her body, reaching her core, jolting forward she sat, shivering violently, her lips quivering and tears threatening to tumble from her orbs.

"Tara? hey, shshsh" she heard a voice attempting to sooth her and she turned to see Demetri in the tent, flapping frantically attempting to calm his human queen, she still continued to shiver and the breeze erupting from his motions weren't helping the situation.

"Seriously Dem?" Alec scoffed as he entered also, watching the smaller guard failing relentlessly. Alec waltzed over to the future queen and quickly wrapped his jacket around her shoulders to warm her slightly, the tent door had been opened when Demetri entered and Marcus exited and some idiot (Demetri) forgot to close it again, forcing the brunette awake.

"There's Marcus?" She queried, she could see that the sky was still plunged in darkness though she was calmer now that she wasn't alone.

"He's on the phone with Caius" Alec informed as he lay back on the bed gently, making himself at home as she rolled her eyes. Sliding to the edge of the bed, Attarah slammed her shoes onto her feet once more and stood, throwing Alec his jacket and replacing it with Marcus', her arms sliding into the long sleeves.

"Where are you going princess?" Felix queried as she exited the tent, the giant vampire had been standing by the door and she walked straight into him.

"I'm finding Marcus" she informed and began to walk away, her shoes crunching on the leaves, Felix rolled his eyes, grabbing her shoulders and turning her around, gently pushing her in the correct direction.

Attarah didn't react in any way, still sleepy and overly sleep deprived as she made her way into the treeline, into the darkness, after wondering aimlessly through the darkness for an immeasurable moment, Attarah broke free into a second smaller clearing, spotting Marcus positioned opposite, hastily chatting away in Italian to his brother.

"Marcus?" The king turned around and spotted her though he'd heard her heartbeat the entire time she trekked the woods.

"One moment Caius" the man switched to English, there was no reason to speak in Italian, they had nothing to hide within the conversation from their American mate. "Attarah my dear, I thought you were sleeping"

"I woke up and you weren't there."

"I'm here now" he smiled gently and stroked her cheek, pulling her softly into his embrace, she rested her face against his chest as he returned to his phone call and she merely listened to his breathing.

"Caius wants to talk to you" Marcus informed a few moments later and she glanced up warily, still being unforgiving to the blond king.

"Okay" she whispered softly and accepted the phone, placing it against her ear and waiting for him to say something.

"Attarah love?" His voice crackled through the speaker yet somehow sounded as smooth as honey in the way only his voice could. Aro was posher, more clipped yet gentle whereas Marcus was rougher, almost like velvet. "Attarah?" She'd dazed off.

"Yes?" She finally replied and heard an audible sigh of relief from the opposite end of the receiver, Marcus took a few needed steps away to rest against a tree and attempt to not pry into their conversation.

"Oh thank god, I'm so sorry Attarah, I didn't mean to upset you" he gushed out and was shocked when he was stopped.

"You didn't upset me...you scared me. You showed me what I had to be, what you wanted me to be and I was terrified because I can't be that person, I've never done any if the things you may think I've done" she rushed out, attempting to find the least embarrassing route.

At that point Attarah, as well as Marcus himself realized that Marcus was unconsciously listening to the conversation though she didn't seem to mind, he needed to hear this all too.

"Attarah, Aro is here also" Caius warned, attempting to stop her from saying anything she'd regret.

"No you all need to hear this" she finalized, staring at Marcus with half tired eyes. "I've never had a boyfriend, I've never kissed a boy and I definitely haven't done anything else either" she demanded and they were all slightly shocked. Females from her generation tended to experiment and overstep boundaries, twelve year olds being in relationships that were deemed to last forever. "I know that it's irritating and you want more but please...start slow" she begged and Marcus nodded from his location with a warm smile.

"I truly am sorry Attarah" Caius begged one final time.

"I know." Was her clipped response as she handed Marcus the phone once more. Said vampire mate quickly wrapped up the conversation and took her hands within his large ones, guiding her through the tree to the tent once more.

"Sleep again my darling, we leave for the hotel in the morning" Marcus hushed, it was still early morning and Attarah was evidently still jet lagged from her flight across Europe.

"Okay" she croaked out and allowed him to lift her up, carrying her to the now vacant tent and placing her on the bed.

The last thing Attarah was consciously aware of was Marcus removing her shoes and swiveling her into a better location on the bed.

"Goodnight my princess" a ghost of a voice whispered and cold lips sealed a kiss upon her flesh.
