We got a statehumans request from Demxn_TearsRBLX :D

Btw. States have lil' powers in this AU. Don't worry about it. Just a reminder.

Moving on-
Enjoy!

TW: Texas being... His conservative self-

Texas sighed, as he slumped down on the couch of the good old Statehouse. He hadn't received any power yet. He was sick of other states showing off their powers (when in reality they were just using them). He wanted one already! Hell- Cali got theirs before HIM!

And that hurt.

Badly.

He wanted cool powers like everyone else... He's the Lone Star State! If anything he should have gotten it first for being so important. But nooooo! The universe had to be against him! Why do-

"Hey, is something bugging you?" A monotone voice asked. Texas turned around and there stood Alaska. "I don't normally care for you lower 48 but you seem upset. What's wrong?"

Texas huffed. "I ain't got no power yet! I should've gotten at least a sign by now!" Whined the ("SLIGHTLY!!" - Texas) smaller state. Alaska rolled his eyes and grabbed the back of his plaid shirt. "Aye, what in tarnation?!"

"Come on, dumb ass. We're going on a walk. I want ice cream."

"Why don't ya take Hawaii? You like her better than all of us!"

Alaska turned to look at him. "You're the one butthurt over some power. So you seem like you need it more. Now get your ass up and come on! Before the Dairy Queen closes!"

Texas sighed and got off the couch, putting on a pair of cowboy boots and following the Last Frontier out the door.

He walked along the sidewalk, Alaska far ahead of him. "Hurry up! They close at six and it's already 5:45! It's a ten-minute walk!" The bigger state whined. Texas rolled his eyes and increased his speed a little to accommodate the other's needs.

His eyes drifted to the already setting sun, which made sense. Winter was here and thankfully no snow. He couldn't bear another snowstorm...

The sky and sun mashed together perfectly. Pink, purple and orange seemed to replace the bright blue from earlier and the sun glistened under it. It was truly a sight.

But then.

The sun's light seemed to flicker on and off. For like, less than a second. And Texas suddenly felt a huge wave of power come over him, so much so that he tumbled to the ground. He couldn't see for at least a minute or so. When his vision returned Alaska was even further ahead, seeming to have forgotten he was there.

Texas quickly stood up and ran after him, cursing him out too.

He could figure out whatever happened later, now he wanted the biggest cone of ice cream for the biggest state! (Alaska did not approve of this message.)

Texas entered his room after a long day. He was tired but didn't feel like sleeping just yet. He wanted to figure out the whole sun blinking thing.

Did he get his power?

Vermont mentioned hers coming randomly so...

He slowly took his hat off his head and set it down. They groaned at the sight of it. He lived his hat sure, but it was all suffered up. It had patches of an assortment of colors on various parts of it. The poor thing was hardly holding together. He let his hand trace the fabric, figuring the warmth was just his room, it was a little hotter than usual in the house at least, when he noticed his finger glowing.

He dropped his hat in surprise but noticed how the uncompleted outline remained in the air. With a shaking hand, he finished it.

And a brand new hat, that looked almost exactly like his old one (minus all the patches and holes) fell into his arms. "HOLY SHIT!" He yelled. He placed the new hat on his head and turned to look in a mirror. "Looking good~!" He purred adjusting the hat a little more.

"It does indeed sir."

"WHO SAID THAT?!" Texas yelped, looking frantically around his bedroom. "SHOW YOURSELF, COWARD!"

That same hat that rested on his head slowly flew off him and now floated in front of him. It had two glowing yellow eyes now on the black ribbon that wrapped around the base. "Good evening sir. I'm Lightsy. You're new...  I dunno... Guardian? No that doesn't sound right... Whatever. I'm just going to be permanently sharing your flesh with you."

"Excuse me?" Texas replied, taking a step away from the floating hat.

"Why yes! You wanted a power you got one. Oh! Where are my manners? What are your pronouns?" The state gulped, he never really liked talking about this kinda stuff. He thought that "pronouns" and changing them were a little weird.

"I uhhh. Go by the regular ones. He/him." The hat gave him an unamused look and shocked his arm with a small bit of lighting. "Ow! What?" Huffed the other, as he rubbed the burned mark on his arm.

"Sir there are no 'regular' pronouns. They are all fine. I don't have any in particular so you can refer to me as whatever you are comfortable with." Texas stared at... Her? It sounded like a her. So he figured to stick with that.

"Ok... Well... I wanna go to sleep now." Texas mumbled, climbing into his bed.

"Splendid idea sir! I'll join you!" The hat replied, it flew and landed right next to him. Not too long after he could her faint snores coming from the hat. Ohhh...

This is gonna be tough. Maybe he didn't want a power...?

Oklahoma wandered into the backyard, noticing Texas seems to be arguing with himself. Odd. Then again when was Texas a normal person?

Never.

Man fuck that guy-

The Sooner state strolled over to him and peeked over his shoulder. "Is... That a... Horse plush?" He snickered. Texas turned to face him, his face flushed red with embarrassment.

"So what if it is?" He huffed.

"I dunno man. Just seems hella girly." Teased the other state. "Like that's something California would do." He continued. He continued his rant for a while.

Not at all noticing Texas tracing a gun with his fingertips. Then he paused when a bullet went past his head and into NY's Bedroom window. "Damn it I missed!" Huffed his brother angrily. Oklahoma cackled and ran off, yelling more insults as Texas raced after him.

Lightsy knew that unfortunately, they got stuck with a short-tempered idiot. But they could tolerate it.

And this was really entertaining! So they'll certainly stick around.

Uhhh- I hope you liked it.

Texas is big dumb.
