TW: Mentions of alcohol, yelling

Kurapika slammed the bathroom door shut and locked it. He jumped and backed away as Leorio hit the door. "Kurapika," he said. "Open the fucking door." Kurapika shook his head. "N-no," he replied through the door. "You're scaring me." There were tears in his eyes and his hands were shaking. Leorio was drunk again. He normally never got like this when he was drunk. But recently he was scaring Kurapika. He hadn't hit him, just yelled. But it still made Kurapika anxious. He tried the best to stay away.

Leorio slammed his fist against the door again. "Kurapika," he growled. "Open this goddamn door. I won't hurt you." Kurapika shrunk against the wall. "How do I know that," he asked in a trembling voice. Leorio let out a heavy sigh and hit the door again. "Just open it," he yelled.

Kurapika yelped and opened his hand. Using nen he managed to conjure a metal pole. He wasn't thinking but at the moment he didn't feel safe. That wasn't a good feeling to have around your drunk fiancé. Slowly he crawled into the tub and lied down. He hugged his legs to his chest, holding the pole. "Please stop," he said. "Leave me alone. Please."

On the other side of the door, Leorio groaned. "Kurapika," he yelled. "Open the fucking door! You love me right? If you do just open the door!" Kurapika hugged his legs closer to his chest. "No," he said. "I just want you to leave me alone. I love you, I really do. But you're scaring me." Leorio bit his lip. He pulled away from the door. "Fine," he said. "I'll let you be. But talk to me in the morning."

Kurapika didn't move. He stayed in the tub hugging himself. He continued the hold the pole. He was crying and shaking. He did love Leorio. But he was scared. And he shouldn't be around him. It was a scary feeling.

Leorio walked away from the door. Kurapika could hear him walk to the bed and lay down. The bedroom and bathroom were connected. And Kurapika didn't want to leave the tub. He felt safer there. Soon enough he had fallen asleep.

********

There was a light knock on the door waking Kurapika up. "Kurapika," Leorio's concerned voice came from the other side of the door. "Kurapika are you awake?" Kurapika slowly stood. His neck was stiff from sleeping in the tub. "Y-yes," he replied. Leorio let out a sigh of relief. "Can I come in," he asked. "Unlock the door please?"

Kurapika unlocked and opened the door. Leorio was there, he looked sick and concerned. He quickly grabbed Kurapika's arms. "Are you okay," he asked. "Did I hurt you?" Before Kurapika could answer Leorio had already looked over his body. Kurapika nodded. "I-I'm fine," he said. "You were just yelling... a lot."

Leorio bit his lip trying to hold back tears. "I'm sorry," he said. "I'm so sorry." He hung his head against Kurapika's chest. He began to cry. "I'm just like my father," he said. "And I'm so sorry. Please forgive me." Kurapika started to rub Leorio's back. "It's okay," he comforted Leorio. "I forgive you. I know you didn't want to hurt me."

Leorio looked up at him. "Things have been so stressful at work lately," he said. "And I know that's not an excuse. I promise I'll stop drinking. I swear." Kurapika softly smiled. "It's fine," he said. "If you need to drink you can. Just... not so much."

Leorio took a few deep breaths. It calmed him down a bit. "Kurapika," he said. "Can we cuddle?" Kurapika nodded. "Of course sweetie," he replied. "Come on now." And for the rest of the day, they cuddled in bed. They didn't give a care about anything around them. They stayed like that. Leorio crying and Kurapika comforting him. Kurapika did love Leorio, he loved him a lot.
