|Angelica| pt. 4

"No, baby, it's bedtime," Kurapika said. "You need to put the toys away."

"No," Angelica screamed. "I don't want to go to bed! I want to play!"

"No. It's late. You need to put them away."

"NO!"

"If you don't put them away, you'll be grounded. No toys. No tv. Nothing."

Angelica screamed and slammed her fist onto the ground. "NO! NO! NO!" She was screaming and crying.

Kurapika pressed his fingers to his temples. He sighed heavily. "Leorio," he yelled. "Please come help me!"

"Just pick up the toy yourself and ignore her," Leorio replied. "She'll stop."

Kurapika sighed and picked up the toys himself. Then left the sight range of his daughter. She didn't stop crying or screaming. Kurapika didn't now how long he'd been hiding around the corner. But the entire time he was there, he just heard the continuous screaming and crying.

Leorio walked out of the bedroom and stood next to Kurapika. "If she doesn't stop this damn tantrum," Kurapika said. "It's been at least twenty minutes."

Leorio frowned. "Let me see if I can do anything," he said. He walked into the living room and stood in front of his daughter. He got on his knees and looked her in the eyes. "What's wrong, baby," he asked.

Angelica wiped the tears from her eyes. "Daddy wants me to put my toys away and I love them, I don't want them to be put away," she said. "I love the toys."

"Well, I have an idea. You can choose one toy to take with you to bed. But the rest need to go away."

Angelica sniffed. "Okay."

"Now which one do you want to take to bed?"

"Koaly. I want him."

"The koala bear?"

"Yes. His name is Koaly."

Leorio chuckled. "Alright," he said. "You go to your room and I'll bring him to you. Okay?"

Angelica nodded. She stood up and walked down the hall to her room. Leorio walked over to the toy box and grabbed the stuffed animal. He walked to Angelica's room and handed the stuffed animal to her. "Now go to sleep," he said.

Leorio walked out of Angelica's room and up to Kurapika. "That's how it's done," he said.

Kurapika sighed. "I don't know how I'd do it without you," he said.

Leorio smiled. "You wouldn't be able to," he said.

Kurapika nodded. "Probably not."

"Come on. We should get some sleep too."

****Next Day****

"What snacks do you want," Kurapika asked while pushing the grocery cart. The cart was one of those which was connected to a small "car" for children. Angelica sat in the car, playing with the wheel. She popped her head out to answer her dad's question, "I want zebra cakes!"

Kurapika chuckled. "Choose something a little bit healthier please," he said.

"Pretzels," Angelica said. "I like pretzels."

Kurapika grabbed the pretzels and continued to shop. Eventually, the cart was full and Kurapika went to check out.

The scanner kept beeping over and over. It wasn't too loud but Angelica was covering her ears after a couple of scans. She whined.
