“TONIGHT, FRIENDS, LIVE nating makakausap ang gwapo and extremely successful na vocalist ng tinaguriang Pambansang Banda ng Pilipinas na Holy Smoke… Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Rome del Mundo… Live sa ating pagbabalik dito lamang sa Let’s Talk Tonight!”

Let’s Talk Tonight was a weekday late night talk show hosted by Mr. Andoy Odrada, a famous-in-his-own-right, fierce yet brilliant gay TV host.

The camera focused on Andoy while the commercial break was being cued.

Then to Rome del Mundo.

He came in with a black coat, white inner shirt and tattered denim jeans. No sight of his flaming arrow tattoo.

His face was serious. Bahagya lang ngumiti kay Andoy. There was this handsome bad boy edginess about him with his serious look on his face.

Gone was the easy-going and smiling Rome del Mundo that I knew of.

Siguro ay kinakabahan siya.
Hindi madalas magbigay ng interview si Rome, more so a live interview.

And then the commercial break for a rubbing alcohol aired.

I let out a drawn out sigh habang wala sa sariling nakatingin sa TV monitor. Maski ako ay kinakabahan. Hindi ko alam ang sasabihin niya.

I wanted to text him and asked why he would give a live interview. Pero nagdalawang-isip ako. After so many thoughts, I decided not to. Hindi ko alam ang sasabihin ko sa kanya.

Hindi ko rin alam kung ano ang magiging reaction ni Bobby. Ayoko na ng gulo.

Nasa bahay ako ni Tita Liezel. Nasa ibaba siya para kumuha ng chichirya namin para sa gagawin naming pagkukuwentuhan. She kept on asking me and now was the time to answer all her questions.

I was all ready.

Alas sais na kami nakauwi kanina galing ng Zambales. Lunes ngayon at kailangan na naming bumalik sa kani-kaniyang mga sariling gawain at buhay.

Lalo na si Robert Aldus ko na alam kong maraming na-miss dahil sa ilang araw niyang pagtatago. Hindi biro ang haharapin niyang mga tanong mula sa mga kakilala at ibang kaibigan.

But we decided that we would just stay mum about it and would say nothing.

I told him that what happened was just between us. We did not owe other people an explanation. Isipin na nila ang lahat tungkol sa amin wala na kaming pakialam. Basta ang mahalaga, alam namin at ng mga taong mahahalaga sa amin ang totoo. That was enough.

Jorj who was in Cavite right now for a raket was the one who told me that Rome was going to give a live interview with Mr. Andoy Odrada.

Iyon ang nakarating sa kaalaman ni Mama Clark na sinabi ni Mama Clark sa kanya at sinabi naman niya sa akin.

Alam na ng buong gang na magpapa-interview si Rome. At alam kong lahat sila ay nakatutok sa kani-kanilang TV.

When I told him that, he just got irritated.
