Meanwhile, at the Truman Manor, Ashleigh was getting ready to go. Like Amber, she had her purple sari Jameela picked out for her in her dance bag as she opened the door of her bedroom.
She texted Penelope on her Alias ring.
Ashleigh: “Is the coast clear?”
Penelope: “Yep. Persephone’s in the shower!”
Ashleigh: “Good. Now’s my chance!”
Ashleigh crept quietly over to the kitchen and got a bottle of Evian water from the fridge, carefully putting it in her dance bag before heading out to the limo.
She had texted Amber for Jameela’s address and gave it to the driver. The plan was to meet and change there and then get dropped off near the Tuilleries Gardens.
Her Alias beeped and she looked at it. It was Penelope.
Penelope: “Good luck sis! I’ll keep Persephone distracted for you as much as I can!”
Ashleigh: “Thanks sis! You’re the best!”
Amber arrived at Jameela’s house first around 9am. Their butler answered the door.
‘Amber Anderson to see Jameela Koothrapali?’ Amber gulped.
‘Ahh yes’ the butler replied. ‘Miss Koothrapali, a Miss Amber to see you.’
‘Show her in!’ Jameela called.
‘Right this way Miss Amber’ the butler said as he held the door open for her.
‘Thank you’ she said as the butler nodded once.
‘Hey bestie!’ Jameela smiled, running up to her. ‘Happy birthday!’
‘Thanks bestie!’ Amber smiled as they hugged.
‘No one else here yet?’ Amber asked.
‘Nope, you’re the first!’ Jameela smiled. ‘So glad you were able to get those trench coats from Mr Hennessy!’
‘Yeah!’ Amber smiled, thinking back a couple of weeks ago when dance class was cancelled for the day and they went to watch Romeo and Juliet rehearsals at the auditorium.
*Flashback scene*
On the day Persephone told the others about the talent scout coming, Amber thought while she was there anyways she might as well ask about the trench coats.
She waited until Mr Hennessy announced a short break.
‘Okay, good work, take five people!’ he said as he clapped.
‘Now’s my chance to ask Mr Hennessy about the trench coats for the Bollywood dance!’ she whispered to Jameela.
‘Good idea bestie!’ Jameela replied, as she got up and went over to him.
‘Uh, excuse me, Mr Hennessy sir?’ Amber asked.
‘Kid, look I told you already, next time we do Saturday Night Fever we can have all the disco music you want. But not in my Romeo and Juliet play’ Mr Hennessy sighed, rubbing his eyes with one hand.
‘No sir, it’s not about that’ Amber replied. ‘Some fellow dancers and I are organising a flash mob soon and we were hoping you might have some trench coats in the costume department we could possibly borrow’ Amber said hopefully.
‘Hmm, I suppose there might be something from a couple of years ago when we did the play adaptation of 12 Angry Men...’ Mr Hennessy considered. ‘You are welcome to go backstage and have a look. I can’t see us needing them anytime soon. But you will return them in the same condition you find them, is that clear?’ Mr Hennessy said sternly.
