It was mid day and the kitchen was empty so I used the opportunity to make myself a large unhealthy breakfast piled high with whipped cream but once I finished my appetite was gone. Just as I thought of offering it to any of Kaleb's family the thought swiftly left my mind as I remembered everything that has happened up to this point. Blissfully I tossed it into the trash, putting my plate away I turned to head back upstairs when I met Kaleb's gaze.

"Hey"

His dark red locks were wavy and damp from him recently getting out of the shower. His beautifully pale skin look rejuvenated, he was getting better looking every day. My eyes took in the sight of the leather strap around his neck and the way the thin black long sleeve adored his broad shoulders. With his hands in his pockets he sauntered over to me.

" Hey" as a deep flutter settled into the chest I had to look away from his intense gaze.

" We have to talk " he leaned against the island.

" About what?"

" Don't do that, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Why didn't you tell me how August was treating you?"

" And your auntie"

" Aunt Teresa?"

" I'm mixed with black"

With a deep sigh Kaleb ran his hands over his face. " This is exactly the shit me and dad were trying to avoid, my auntie is a bitch Mia. I don't care what you're mixed with and August " he chuckled shaking his head

" That's a jealous mother fucker for you"

As I listened to him speak, his words didn't sink in and as I tried to understand why I only nodded.

" Mia, baby" he urged softly as I looked at him I couldn't help but feel like something was off. With a sigh he stepped behind me and ran his hands down my arms before wrapping his arms around me. Leaning down he gently kissed my bare shoulder.

" I love you, I don't give a single fuck what they think."

" Kaleb that's not-"

Turning me around he tilted my head upward and stared into my eyes.

" I brought you here because you mean more to me than my own life. Sure we both have some things to work on but I'm more than willing to do it with you as my wife"

Tears pooled in my eyes and I felt myself beginning to smile. He grinned a little,  placing a hand against his handsome face, I envisioned it. Kaleb as my husband, we'll have our own family together.. I wanted it so badly. He was perfect in every way.

" I don't deserve you"

Kaleb's grin widened into a smile as he leaned down, holding my body against his.

" You deserve better than me but I think I'm good enough to settle for"

He chuckled softly and I couldn't help but do the same.
