The tears still went unnoticed by so called friends. He was their robot, he couldn't glitch. He wasn't allowed to

"Logan?" He hid the flask and got up

"Yes?"

"I need to take your laundry down" Logan nodded and redid his makeup, wiping the streaks from his eyes.

"Hi Patton" Patton set the basket down and smiled

"Hi Lo" Patton was six months older than Logan and just in the year above, which made him perfect for the role of their hall supervisor. He passed over a few coins "Dad says you payed a little too much rent. So Einstein, how's it going having a room to yourself?" Logan shrugged and blinked when Patton hugged him, whispering gently "Your eyes are red" Logan sighed out a sob and let the older boy hug him and rub circles on his back. "Logan everyone knows what happened ok? No one thinks you slept with him for a grade" He pulled back and checked him over. "Don't lock yourself in here to cry" Patton had taken a while earning Logan's trust and was still earning it now, letting him take baby steps while guiding him. "Ok I'm going to take this and then I'll come back and we'll grab a coffee. I'm not letting you starve yourself" He walked out with a friendly smile. Logan watched him leave and dropped down to look under his bed. He threw the flask out of the window and texted Patton.

CAN YOU WALK WITH ME PAST HIS HOUSE? - L

SURE, IF YOU HANG ON A SEC. ALSO I'LL BE CHECKING UNDER YOUR BED FOR THE FLASK LO, PLEASE TELL ME YOU'VE GIVEN UP. - P

DONE WORRY, I HAVE. - L Logan ignored his twisting gut and put his phone back. He hated lying but he wanted Patton to think he could do this. Could move on. He knew it didn't make sense but he knew it was true. He only lied because he loved him. Unrequited love was always depicted as the most painful thing imaginable. He never thought it would be true.

HEY BABY, YOU CALLED ME? - P

PAT, I LOVE YOU BUT THIS ISNT WORKING. - V

WHAT'S NOT WORKING? AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG? IS IT ME? - P

NO, IT'S JUST... I KNOW YOU DIDNT MEAN TO. - V

WHAT'RE YOU SAYING? - P

IT'S PRETTY CLEAR YOU'VE FALLEN FOR SOMEONE ELSE - V Patton stared at his phone  and sent back the same words he told Virgil across the table later

"I love you" The gothic boy sighed

"I know you did but you talk about him all the time and I can tell when someone's repressing or denying something because it's how I used to talk about you. Look Patton it's not just that, I'm moving for my job soon and you'd have to choose. I'd want you to choose him" Virgil kissed Patton's forehead "I'm sorry. I think we had something great.... just not in that way. Bye Pat" He walked over to the boy in a white gold jacket at the other end of the room. Patton sighed and texted Logan

THINK YOU COULD CHEER ME UP? - P

ANY WAY I CAN - L Patton sighed when he thought of the younger boy. The chats, the evenings when he needed to help, the evenings where they just laughed, Logan's eyes... Virgil's little speech... It was true. He loved him. He unconsciously echoed Logan's thought at that moment.

Unrequited love sucked.
