"Do you know any common tongue?" Virgaelle translated so that Pahton answered

"Len" She sighed and turned to Logaine

"He says no" Logaine swallowed as they rode on, seeing her soon to be home getting nearer she looked at it carefully. There were multiple huts on hard dirt ground with an animal skin trail leading to the makeshift door of the grandest one. It was twice as wide as any of the others, with animal skin curtains attached awkwardly to the top of the rectangular gap that served as a door. Pahton lifted her down to walk inside.

"Sakerrana?" Virgaelle explained

"He asks if you like it"

"Marathenna sed ulatasi"

"He adds that he will change it if you do not" Logaine held back her surprise at his concern.

"Tell him it is wonderful"

"Ares majaliah" Pahton's smile was warmer than she expected from a man taking her to a forced marriage. Logaine smiled back and looked around again. There was a fire in one corner of the hut near a handmade bed of feathers woven together and wrapped into sewn together silk, with rectangularly cut furs for blankets and pillows on top to complete it. It was surrounded either side by silk curtains attached to the hand carved poles of wood which were nailed firmly into the ground. Each section of the hut served as a different room, giving it a unique crowded yet comfortable quality that Logaine felt attracted to despite the reason she was there.

"Why is that dress there?" It was a beautiful white silk with feathered sleeves and a scaled bra section with jewels scattered on the hem. Virgaelle giggled slightly

"It is your gift. It is a custom in this tribe to give your admired a gift of a dress or a stallion or mare"

"It's beautiful" Virgaelle translated Pahton's sentence as Logaine admired it.

"He says you may wear it as a token and on your wedding day" Logaine came back to reality with the last two words, giving Pahton a weak smile so he looked concerned. That broke her heart more than being sold, more than the forced marriage. The fact he really cared.
