"Once again this year, among 56 schools across Japan, a student from our school was chosen to participate in the yearly academic olympiad. (L/N) (F/N), the chosen student will be participating again this year in the said event.."
I looked at her and she was holding her laugh when I noticed that she stopped from reading. "What?"
"Ah, no. It's just do you want to listen to the next line?"
"No need, I already know what it said. Besides, I've been participating since I entered this school. You know that very well, Haruhi" I answered and continued writing
"But still they really wrote whatever they want, our school newspaper team." Haruhi chuckled and continued reading "(L/N) is known as the school luckiest girl. With her good academic history, rich family household and kind friends, she is always chosen to participate in inter-school academic..."
I'm not lucky. I couldn't help but study since that's all I can do for now. Rich family household? It's because of my parents hard work, not mine. I haven't proven anything right now. Luckiest, huh? I just wish that they stopped that.
"...(F/N)"
And before I fall on the depth of my thoughts, I felt Haruhi's hand tapping on mine. She pointed the phone on my side that was vibrating non-stop.
"Hiro-san?" I grabbed my phone and answered it
"(F/N)!"
"As always your voice is so loud. What's up?"
"Are you still in your school?"
"Yeah, in the library. Just finishing rewriting my lecture notes. Why?"
"I need a favor."
"Of what?"
"Ehh, uhm, ahh"
I chuckled since I could here him hesitating to tell it over the phone "I understand, let's meet in the music store in front of the station in 30 minutes. I'll just finish rewriting my notes"
"Thank you (F/N)! Then I'll see you later! Make sure to wear warm clothes"
I hang up the call and put my phone on my side. I giggled and started writing again
"Is that Shimono-san?" Haruhi asked still holding the school newspaper "you are really lucky, but I feel bad for you, since the guy you like only thinks of you as a friend"
"It's fine. He doesn't know anyway." I answered. She's right. The guy who was with me for a long time only thinks of me as a friend. That's why, I'm not lucky at all
(F/N) is better in my opinion. She will be my partner. That's why I'm sorry. I chose (F/N), okay?

After finishing my lecture notes, I gathered all my things and put them on my bag.
"Then see you on Monday, Haruhi. Don't forget about the report"
"I understand. By the way, in the newspaper, I read something about the academic Olympiad, seemed like it is different as before"
"Yeah, but I'm not thinking about that for now."
"Are you going to tell Shimono-san?"
I smiled and waved at her as I left the school library and headed towards the music store. Indeed, I need to tell Hiro-san about the Olympiad. I must...
"(F/N)!"
Not far from where I was standing, Hiro-san was waving and calling my name, loud enough to hear. He ran towards me when the lights turned green and I noticed he was smiling from ear to ear.
"(F/N), you are late!"
"I'm only 5 minutes late. Well sorry about that" I sighed and noticed the guy following him "a fellow seiyuu? Not Toriumi-san nor OnoYu-san, nor Maeno-san. A new face?" I tilted my head and got my phone on my pocket. "Ah, I didn't notice your messages. I'm sorry"
"Shimono-san, is she the friend you mentioned?"
"Yeah, the very opposite of me, (L/N) (F/N). This is Kaji Yuki-kun. Also a seiyuu" he introduced and suddenly got my bag "I'll hold them for you. Kaji-kun, this girl is really different to me. I'm unlucky in choosing things, but she is special and different"
Kaji Yuki? Ah, I heard of him, but first time seeing him in person. I met some whenever I visit them, but this Kaji Yuki-san, I heard of him, never met him.
Setting that aside...
"Different you say" I commented and sighed. But inside me, I was happy that he called me special but I needed to hold it back "then, why do you need me?"
Silence was their response as they looked at each other. They were hesitating to tell me. Was it hard to say, or was it embarrassing to say?
In the end, I followed the two of them. Followed them in a busy street of Tokyo. However, I was expecting for us to go to a place where lots of people were. But after entering small alleys, and turning left and right, we arrived in a quiet market, with not much of people. It was like a countryside market.
"Lucky roulette?" I narrowed my eyes towards the two of them and they were grinning at me
"Ahra, young men, you are back. Ready to challenge it again?" The old man on the stall made a teasing smile
"Hahaha, old man, we bring a goddess of luck!" Hiro-san pointed at me and the old man tilted his head, confused to what Hiro-san meant "you see (F/N), we needed to get the grand prize. But Kaji-kun and I kept on getting the black part."
"Grand prize?" I looked at the list and sighed "you can go there without it, right?"
"We can go to Okinawa any time, the problem is the hotel. We cannot get reservation anymore. It's the only hotel in that particular island. And we needed 5 rooms for our next program. And the old man said that they already reserved it. So we can go there anytime since it's already reserved"
I sighed in defeat and nodded. "I understand" Hiro-san handed the money and I noticed the smile behind this old man. I spinned the roulette clockwise and it was so fast, it stopped after a while and it stopped in the golden color. The few people near us cheered as they saw the result.
"You are joking, right?!" The old man and even Kaji-san said in chorus
"As expected from (L/N) (F/N)!" Hiro-san put his arms around my shoulder and then ruffled my hair
The old man gave the tickets to me while looking away. I felt how anxious he was. I looked at the ticket and saw the name of the hotel.
Ah, I see. These two, they were doing this not just for themselves, but also to others.
I smiled and tilted my head "old man, you sure that these tickets can be used in this hotel, right?" He nodded slowly and I narrowed my eyes to him "but I can't remember having a reservation for this."
"Eh?"
I showed him the tickets and again smiled but this time, I knew I snapped "this hotel is owned by my parents, and I was there last week. I knew very well if we have this kind of reservation. Old man, now I won these tickets, my friends can stay there for three days, without paying anything, right?"
In the end, the old man apologized and promised that he would never do that again. He returned our money and gave us the second prize. It was an all you can eat ticket for five. He said that this time it was real.
"Before that" I folded my arms and this time I narrowed my eyes towards Hiro-san and Kaji-san
"Shimono-san, I feel the winter breeze from your friend"
"(F/N), the spring just started. Please remove the cold wind from you" Hiro-san pleaded but I just couldn't believe that he called me for this. We haven't seen each other for two months and then this?! "Kaji-kun mentioned about this, and so I went to see it myself. We can do it ourselves, but I wanted to make it sure that it's really not from your hotel. But I didn't think that it's really yours. I'm sorry for calling you because of this"
I remained silence and the two of them were smiling, asking for forgiveness and understanding
"I understand, then I'll go back-"
"What are you saying? We are going to go around for now and then eat. I know a good place where to eat karage. Besides, it's been a while since we last see each other. And it's your first time meeting Kaji-kun, right?"
I curiously asked to what should we do on the tickets, but Hiro-san told me to give it to Kaji-san. In exchange, he would treat me.

After an hour of going around, Kaji-san received a call from his agency and immediately left. Hiro-san explained to me what happened. A friend of Kaji-san mentioned it to him and so he went and tried it. But no luck. He then mentioned it to Hiro-san first, and they headed there to tried it, but again no luck. As Hiro-san asked where it was, he knew it right away that my parents owned it and so he called me.
"(F/N), are you again in your own world?" I snapped and turned to him, smiling innocently. He chuckled and spread his arms "what do you think of this?" He asked, showing a white printed vest shirt he tried on
"That looks good. It perfectly fits on your black loose pants and white top not hat" I answered and he immediately changed and bought it. I waited outside the store as I ignore the messages from my 'friends' who wanted to hang out with me.
As I was waiting for Hiro-san, I noticed the fountain on the mall, my thoughts flew from the first time I met him.

It was the first year of high school. Haruhi and I went to the mall, just going around. Since there was an event, it was a change of mood to go around. It was that time that Haruhi told me to wait for her in the mall's fountain. I stood there lost how beautiful the fountain was. And I didn't notice him until he spoke to me.
"It's beautiful, right?"
"Yeah"
And that was our first conversation goes since we were both swayed in the scenery in front of our eyes. We returned to our senses when there was an announcement in the mall
"Ahhh! Where is she?!" I jolted when his loud voice echoed. He felt the people around looking at him, well that was an obvious response. And I noticed how trouble he was.
It couldn't be help...
"Your voice is really loud. Where are you looking at? I'm just here." I chuckled and bowed down towards the others "I apologize, he has a loud voice, right? It's always like this" I turned to him and winked "now hurry up, apologize"
"Ah, yeah, yeah" he bowed down and apologized. The others said that it was okay. I chuckled and he also bowed down towards me "thank you for that, and I'm sorry"
"It's fine. It can't be helped, since you were fascinated to this beautiful thing. Even just a few seconds, you will be able to forget all your problems" I smiled at him and asked curiously "by the way, shouldn't you hurry up and find your friend?"
"Hmmm? No, I give up on that. I'll stay here. Since you got my interest. What's your name? I'm Shimono Hiro"
"I'm (L/N) (F/N)"
The conversation continues as we both waited for our friends. Not much of age gap, and so we surprisingly got along. I was also surprised when he called me by my first name on our first meeting, in exchange I called him by first name. We didn't notice the time and finally Haruhi and seemed his friend also arrived.
And both of them were mentioning about a relay, and the prize was a beautiful bracelet that could be wear by any gender, in which Haruhi was complaining that we couldn't since it was for male and female. Hiro-san on the other hand was being asked to participate.
"(F/N) is better in my opinion. She will be my partner. That's why I'm sorry. I chose (F/N), okay?" Hiro-san grinned at me and winked "we don't need the prize, so we'll give it to you two, but we're going to participate"
He grabbed my hand as we ran towards to enter the relay.
It was fun, and during the relay, he let me choose since on the first options, he chose the least card. He was surprised how I answered the questions during the stop over, chose the best card, and in the end we got the first place. We gave the bracelet as promised
After that day, I unexpectedly became close to him that we hang out now and then. I found out he was a famous seiyuu. I found out lots of things about him

"...(F/N)" I snapped out again from my deep thought as I felt my hand being tapped. "You sure love to daze"
"Sorry" I chuckled and bit on my food. We were already here in the restaurant he mentioned. I was on my own thoughts. "Then what is it again?"
"Did you attend any seiyuu event?" Silence was my response, since, the truth I never had a chance to attend any of his event since I met him. And we only meet once in a while. Those once in a while, I visited him in the recording studio or we meet in the restaurant he recommended
"Ahre, (F/N)?!"
Tsk, unlucky.
I smiled towards my 'friends' as they approached us. They wanted to hang out, but I ignored their messages.
"Oh my gosh, Shimono Hiro!" The girls giggled and I also felt the pink aura from them "(F/N), you know him?! You really are so lucky"
"And you are rich too"
"Even lucky in study"
They sure were loud every time I see them outside the school. I was about to respond but then..
"It's me that is lucky and her that is unlucky because of me. Actually the rich one is her parents, because of their hard work. (F/N) is smart that's why she always gets the highest score" I was surprised since Hiro-san answered on my place, and he knew very well what I wanted to say "your friends?"
"Uh, yeah"
"Shimono-san, she is really lucky. Since she is chosen again to participate in this year's academic Olympiad"
"Thank you for telling him." I sarcastically commented and then kept quiet
They felt the silence, and good thing they read the ambiance, they left us.
"Hmmm, so you are chosen again." He chuckled and rested his chin on his palm "you sure are smart. So you will be gone for two weeks again"
"Hmmm? Ah, no, not two weeks" I answered and looked straight to his eyes, smiled teasingly "this year it's different. It's a long term, I'll be gone for months, Hiro-san"
