Feels Alert: (alt universe)
I went out into my yard, hoping with all of my old heart that they'd be there.
And in the beginning of spring, there it was. The first bloom of the bright red roses I picked for Frank so long ago when I took him to the Valentine's dance.
"The flowers you love are back again, sweetie", I said out loud.
No one was around, but I know he was listening. He was always with me.
Just as I did every year, I spread a bit more ashes on the blooming roses that he loved most so he could always be as beautiful as he was when he was alive.
