"Please, (F/N)! I'm begging you! Go here in Japan and be our song writer/composer!"
And because my uncle was so persistent, that he even asked my parents for permission, I was forced to go back in Japan.
My family moved to Germany ever since before I was born. Technically, I was born there, study there, well, I lived my whole life there. I had been to Japan twice, but I had no plan on going here, or work here.
But my persistent uncle successfully brought me here in this country. It wasn't that I didn't like to be here, but I didn't know anything about Japan, except the language. I could speak, write, read, and understand Japanese. But I didn't know the culture, type of music or whatsoever.
I majored music in Germany, and I was a song writer/composer for a famous music company there.
Again, thanks to my stupid uncle, I needed to quit my job. My parents were to blame too. Why did they accepted this?!
"Don't make that face, (F/N). I feel like you were forced to go here"
"Uncle, I've been forced to be here. I had a job in Germany, and all of a sudden I need to quit and go here. There's no logic in what my parents told me to do. I am already an adult, and yet they told me to quit and go here?!"
"You could reject it"
"I did, but I am here now, so it was no point to go back there. My company was so shocked that I needed to work here in Japan"
"Sorry to hear about that, but you will do great in here. Plus everyone is nice"
Easy for my uncle to say. Anyway, we entered a building, which I read on the entrance it said Lantis
We took the elevator, and at the second floor someone entered and it seemed my uncle knew him. Well of course, because he worked here since the beginning of his career
"Good afternoon Suzumura-san. I thought you have a meeting in your company?"
"Good afternoon Ishida-san. I did, this morning so I went straight here after. I heard that three of Kiramune's songwriter and composer quit the job"
"Yes, we will be talking about that later. They accepted a job from other company since they offered a big amount of money"
"Well, that's business"
Okay, so I didn't know what my uncle's job here was, but never mind that. Was he forgetting about me? I was roaming my eyes around the elevator, and it seemed this Suzumura-san noticed me
"Is she your acquaintance?" He asked smiling at me. Now that I realized, he had this Kansai accent
"Ah yes, my niece. She came from Germany, and she will be one of our new song writer/composer"
"Oh, that's good to hear. I am Suzumura Kenichi, part of Kiramune label that you will be working" he extended his hand for a shake hand
"Pleasure to meet you sir. I am (L/N) (F/N)." I smiled and that was pretty awkward
"Did you study there?"
"No, I actually live there with my family. This would be my third time here in Japan. My uncle was so persistent and asked me to go here"
"Oh but your Japanese is pretty good"
"Ah yes, it is always Japanese in our house and I studied. I also have Japanese friends" when I answered, we arrived on the 7th floor and we got off
"Speaking of Germany, Kaki is also going here. He supposed to be here" Suzumura-san said to my uncle
"He said yesterday that he will, but I am not sure where Kaki is"
Wait, did they just said Kaki?! Okay, there were lots of people named Kaki, it was not Kakihara Tetsuya, right?!
Kakihara Tetsuya? He was my boyfriend, for like 5 years in Germany! 7 years if you count the time we didn't see each other. Well, what happened, he just disappeared when we were 18, and went back to Germany two years after, and then left again. He said he started studying here in Japan. I didn't know! Since we supposed to meet that certain day, he didn't show up, and the next thing I heard he went to Japan.
Yes great! So when we met after two years, he was so excited, but that was the time I realized, he was so focused to his dream, which I didn't know what. He needed to go back here in Japan, so we talked and we broke up.
But the hard thing on my part, I loved him! He was my first boyfriend, and until now I couldn't find someone to love with. Since he was the only guy I loved, I didn't know what I would feel if I see him
"Suzumura-san, Ishida-san, and a person I don't know, hello" yes, I didn't know you either
"Hiroshi is also here. Is everyone going today?" Suzumura-san asked this man named Hiroshi
"No, I think just four of us. I saw Nobu and Kaki buying drinks on the first floor" he answered then looked at me
"Ah, Kamiya-san this is my niece (L/N) (F/N)" and again my dear uncle introduced me
"I'm Kamiya Hiroshi" he extended his hand and I did the same
We stood in front of the room and it seemed we need to wait for a meeting in that room to be done
"So it's just the four of us? Then Ishida-san, (L/N)-san, and Matsuoda-san?" Suzumura-san asked
"Kaki said that Matsuoda-san will introduced new composers today" Kamiya-san answered
"Yes, actually there will be new people including my niece" Uncle added
"Uncle, who is that Kaki? And are they producer or what?" I asked and it seemed Suzumura-san and Kamiya-san heard me
"Oh you didn't know Kaki? Or us?" Suzumura-san asked and I shook my head.
"I knew someone that was called Kaki, but might be a different person. And sorry, I don't know you"
"Well, she lived in Germany and didn't know any seiyuu" uncle explained
"Seiyuu? Voice actors? Suzumura-san and Kamiya-san? I mean those people who dubbed in anime and games and stuffs?" I asked and they were dumbfounded
"Yes, these two and there's two more. Actually in Kiramune, they are all seiyuu" uncle added and I was, yeah, okay I got it face. But I didn't know that seiyuu also sings, I was really out of Japan culture
"Kaki is from Germany, right?" I looked at Kamiya-san in surprised to his question "so you might know Kaki"
No, there were lots of people who had a name as Kaki. I mean, hey Japan is a big country, and Germany too. I was sure that it might be different person. Kakihara Tetsuya and that Kaki they kept on mentioning were different, right?!
"His full name is Kakihara Tetsuya." Suzumura-san said that made me so speechless! Okay, there were lots of Kakihara Tetsuya, right?!
"What about me?" And I guess not. It was easy to recognize his voice. And yes, he was standing behind me
"Ah, Kaki" Suzumura-san called him "wait you bought drinks just for you?"
"I saw Nobu buying so I bought too" he countered and chuckled
"Okamato-kun"
"It's Moto. Do you want me to buy?" He asked but Suzumura-san shook his head,
"No I'm fine, oh but how about Hiroshi? Ishida-san, (L/N)-san"
"I have mine actually. I asked them to buy one for me" Kamiya-san laughed
"I'm good, how about you?" Uncled asked me
"I'll go buy my own. There's still time, right?"
"Ahre?" Kaki went in front of me and his eyes became bigger and he was so loud "(F/N)! Is that you?!"
Great! He just called my name! And why on earth he need to be so close to my face
"The last time I checked, I am (F/N). Stupid Kaki" I punched him lightly on the chest and he just grinned
"So Kaki knows her?" Suzumura-san asked and it was then the meeting ended, and we entered the room
And in German, he asked me "when did you come here?"
"Few days ago."
"So you will be staying here for good?"
"I don't know. It depends"
Wait, why was he talking to me normally?! And why was my heart beating uncontrollably. It was noisy and it hurt so much. I could feel the muscles on my chest contracting.
"You two don't talk in German!" Kamiya-san jokingly told us and sat across us
"Hello," a cute bubbly guy sat beside me. He was called Nobu a while ago "I'm Okamoto Nobuhiko"
"Hello, I'm (L/N) (F/N)."
"How did you know Kakihara-san?" He asked
How should I answer his question?
"An acquaintance?" I asked not sure of my answer that made everyone in the room laughed
"Why are you not sure about that?" Kaki complained
"I don't know what to answer" I retorted that made them laughed even more
"Why don't you two go and buy drinks and talk about it?" Suzumura-san asked and yeah, I wanted to drink some Strawberry & cream Frappuccino right now
"Then I'll buy for everyone" Kaki stood up and signaled me to go with him
I stood up and followed him.
"An acquaintance?" he asked me once we got out of the room
"What am I supposed to answer?" I asked back and I just heard him chuckled. What?! Did he want me to tell them, oh, he was my boyfriend for like 7 years, and then we broke up, after 12 years we meet again?
Besides, wasn't he a seiyuu?! I didn't know if he was that famous or what, but at least I wanted some privacy too
"You can say that I was your boyfriend" he said as we entered the elevator
"Really? Aren't you being too insensitive?"
"Huh? How so?"
"I know that it happened like more than 10 years ago, but sorry to tell you this but I still couldn't forget what you did"
"I am really sorry about that. Until now I regret on what happened. But hey, I missed you and it is really nice to see you again"
When he said that, I felt like my face turned red and the beating of my heart became non-stop. He still didn't change. He was vocal to everything that came up to his mind
"Hello Kakihara-kun" a couple of female staffs greeted him when we arrived at the starbucks "You have a meeting today?" they asked and he became engrossed in talking to them
Okay, as for me, what should I buy? As I remember, Suzumura-san wanted iced coffee, and uncle wanted the same.
"Uhm, two iced coffee grande. And one strawberry & Frappuccino, grande" I ordered. It seemed this guy here noticed that I was about to pay
"Wait, I'll pay for it. And can you add five more iced coffee" he stood beside me and he really like to smile
"Five more?"
"Nobu texted me" he answered "Do you want anything else?"
"No, I'm fine with the Frappuccino. Thanks" I answered
"You still like strawberry, huh" he commented and we went on the other side to wait for my order
"Kakihara-kun, can we take a picture with you?" the staffs asked him and he said yes. And while waiting, they were so busy taking pictures. As for me, I was busy scrolling my phone. And searched his name.
WOW! As in WOW! A FAMOUS SEIYUU?! Really, this guy here? And he was singing too.
"Here's your order"
"That was fast" I told the guy in the starbucks and got it.
I held the two four-cup holders and started to walk away. I left Kaki who was still busy with his fans
I was waiting for the elevator to come. And there were others staffs who were waiting with me to get on the elevator. There was one who was standing beside me and he was drinking a starbucks too. The elevator came and I was about to enter when Kaki came
"Why did you left me?" he asked as he entered after me
"You are too busy" I retorted
"Give me that" he said as he got the starbucks on my hand "Ahre, Namikawa-san?! You are also here?!"
"Yeah, I am done with my morning schedule so I stopped by" oh, he seemed know this guy "Who is this, your girlfriend?"
"I'm (L/N) (F/N). I'm Ishida-san's niece." I immediately answered
It was then he and Kaki talked. Namikawa-san got the other cup holder from Kaki.
Kaki then gave my Frappuccino.
When we arrived in the meeting room, wow, there were more people
"Eh, Daisuke?! Why are you here?!" Suzumura-san shouted when he saw Namikawa-san
"I'm here to attend the meeting" he answered immediately
"Wahh, our day will be nice again." Suzumura-san commented
I sat beside Okamoto-san and Kaki sat next to me. Namikawa-san sat next to Kamiya-san acrossed us. Suzumura-san was standing next to uncle and a woman in middle aged. Near them, there were four people, three female and one male.
"Okay, so let's start the meeting." The middle aged woman said "As you had known, three of our song writer/composer left our company. They got offered from other music company. Well that's business"
It seemed this middle aged woman was the one they call Matsuoda-san. I thought she was a guy.
"I was so shocked that they accepted it, but we must go on. I mean, we need to produce great music than before. So as you all can see, we have new people. We lost three, but we gained more."
"Please introduce yourself"
"I'm Lee Maki, I am Half-Korean, but I lived my life here in Japan" the male one introduced himself "I just graduated in Akita International school and this will be my first major job actually. Matsuoda-san hired me. I majored in music"
"I'm Horio Ruri, Lee-kun's classmate in Akita. We both majored in music, and same Matsuoda-san hired me"
So they were just graduated. I wonder how old were they?! I felt so old
"I'm Banda Miyuki. I actually worked at Sony Music five years ago. But I quit, and was hiatus for five years. So I am glad Matsuoda-san hired me"
"I'm Akiba Natsuko, I majored music in Tokyo College of Music. Matsuoda-san is my father's friend, so she asked me to work here"
"Oh yeah, Kakihara-kun, she mentioned that you know her" Matsuoda-san asked him
"Yeah, I actually wasn't sure if it is Akiba, but when I was working part-time job before, we worked together. It's been a long time" Kaki answered and he smiled to Akiba-san
"Okay, so that's it-" Matsuoda-san was about to continued when Kamiya-san and Suzumura-san stopped her "Why?"
"We still have one" Kamiya-san answered and pointed me. That somehow, hurt me actually
"Oh sorry, I completely forgot. You are not sitting here, that's why" Matsuoda-san explained
"Ah, it's okay" no, it was not! Why I couldn't tell them?! "I'm (L/N) (F/N). I came from Germany. I graduated in Frankfurt University of Music. I worked there as a teacher for two years, then quitted when I became a song writer/composer for Act Music & Vision GmbH & Co KG." I answered that made Matsuoda-san gasped in awe
"Really?! You worked there?"
"Yes, but uncle were so persistent that I needed to leave the company."
"Ishida-kun? You have a niece that is working there?"
"I was so desperate that we need a high class composer, right? I felt sorry though that she need to quit her job for me."
"But the company told me that if I want to write songs in German, I can still give them my composition" I answered.
"Well, welcome aboard!" Matsuoda-san smiled at me
"So, we will be having our Kirafes months from now. Then Kamiya-san, your first live, and two mini-albums. I still don't know what to do on Hareroku. We also need to think of the Trignal's live, NamiDai's too"
And basically, we talked about their plan for the future, where they were at lost especially for Kamiya-san's second mini-album.
"For Hareroku, do you really need a new songs for it?" I asked that made them curious "Like, can you just do your own version? I mean, Kaki's song, I apologize but I don't know any, but like you will sing a new version of one of his song. Your own groove, own tempo, like your version. Since, it is Hareroku, then do some Rock music as a theme? Since, roku, can also pronounce as rock, right?"
"We can do that!" Suzumura-san agreed on me "I mean, that's a nice idea."
"We can do new songs for Haregou, then Kamiya-san's versions on the second." Matsuoda-san agreed
"Also, you can do a revised, not revised, I mean a new version of your songs before. But as I said, I haven't hear any of Kiramune songs" I added
"You can do a new version for My Diary, Kamiya-san" Okamoto-kun told him
Everyone agreed, and the discussion continued. I gave my ideas, and they happily accepted it.
After the meeting, I sat quietly scrolling my phone again, when I noticed Kaki looking at me
"What?" I asked him and he chuckled
"You became great"
"I am not. Experience, probably?" I corrected
"You became vocal to what you wanted to say"
"I actually worked on that. Since, I couldn't say what I wanted to say before. No, there are still things when I can't say what I want to say."
"Yeah, like that time"
"Shut up" I stopped him and he again laughed
"Oh, can the five new ones stay? I need to talk to you. I'll be back, wait me here" Matsuoda-san told us and left
"Well then, I need to go"
"Yeah, go away" I told him and he poked my cheeks "What's that for?"
"You became a cheeky brat. By the way, what's your phone number?" I had no plan on giving him my number, but he was so persistent that I ended up giving my number to him. "Thank you. Okay see you" he stood up and left
"(L/N), thank you for the suggestions a while ago. You really helped a lot" Suzumura-san said before he left. Well, Namikawa-san, Kamiya-san, and even Okamoto-san thanked me for all of my suggestions
And then I was left alone on my side, and they were all so far away from me. It was then Horio-san asked me to sit near them. I sat across them, but to my surprise she moved and sat beside me
"You were so cool a while ago. I had no experience, so I wanted to learn from you" she said as she smiled at me brightly
"True, I was speechless" Banda-san told me "It is a good thing that we will be working together"
"I am here because Matsuoda-san asked me and Kaki is here too. I am not here to be friendly or whatsoever. We are all rivals here. So don't lump me with you" Akiba suddenly spoke. That surprised me. So this was her true self
"We are hired by Matsuoda-san to have experience and to learn. We will be working together, so you must not have that kind of attitude, Akiba-san" Horio answered back and she was pissed
"Us, not her. Why are you even here? You don't even know Kiramune and any Japanese music, suddenly acting almighty! Why don't you just go back where you came from?!" She glared at me and her voice was so intense that I knew she hated me
"Are you jealous?" Lee-san asked her "We can't hide the truth though that she is great, far greater than you"
"Okay stop!" I told them "We will all be working for them. We need to write and compose good songs for them"
Even though I stopped them, I could feel the heat and hate inside the room. And to my surprise, I heard Akiba-san said "Acting all chummy with Kaki. Stupid eyesore!"
So her main reason, was it about Kaki?
She also had a feeling towards Kaki?
So it wasn't just me?!
WAIT! NO! WHAT?! I mean, I loved Kaki before?! But now? I am still unsure!
