Brilliant start. It really had me hooked in.

Thoughts should be in italics.

I loved the humour built into the story. It certainly provided relief from the serious and more tense situation.

Characters were amazing and well rounded.

Chapters were short but I liked it because you didn't force them. They ended at a natural place, which I prefer. Better have a 2 page chapter than a 50 page one.

Overall, a fantastic start. I would recommend you read Molten Hearts by @sravani-yenamandra as it had that vibe to it.
