The beginning was perfect - very emotional.

Small tense jumps (very minor though.)

Numbers spelled out completely look more formal (including things like twenty-first century, etc).

Nicely developed descriptions but more would have been welcome - maybe start by describing the pictures.

I liked the setting and the old style.

Dialugue was sometimes not formatted right.
