"Can they-"

"-Dash, please stop complaining about it." You snapped, "You can't do anything about it. No one can."

"(Y/n), I have the right to be angry! I lo..." He gulped, "You're my best friend! It's been the two of us since elementary-"

"-I never said you can't be angry, but being a god damn asshole about it isn't going to change the fact I won't be staying." You glared, standing up before sighing, "I-I'll just...see you later."

You sat at the desk in your room, a pen and notepad between your arms, holding a flashlight up to your window. In the house opposite to your, Dash say with a flashlight to his window, flashing it.

Dash grinned after he finished translating, flashing his reply. The two of you would spend hours having conversation's like this. When Dash was younger, his dream was to work for the marines, so the two of you learned Morse Code. He had gotten past that phase, yet you both still communicated that way.

You rolled your eyes, sending him a teasingly glower.

Dash's checks grew a pink hue, and he turned around to hide it, running his hand down his face with a large sigh. He looked over his shoulder, watching you as you patiently waited for his response. Dash couldn't help but smile at you, which you returned. He placed his flashlight down, causing you to send him a strange look before he pointed to his backyard. You nodded, disappearing as you left your room. You slid open the glass door leading to your backyard, and after hopping over the fence, you met Dash face to face.

"Hey." You mumbled, looking down at your plaid pajama shorts. Dash followed your eyes, gazing at your bare legs for a moment, before swiftly looking away with a flustered face.

"Hey." He whispered, meeting your stare with a small smile, "I just want to tell you something... before you leave."

You couldn't ignore the tingling sensation in your stomach, and you cleared your throat, "Dash-I don't think-"

"I like you." Dash quickly said, "Like, like like, not like...I-I think I lo-"

"Dash, please-I really don't think this is a-"

" (Y/n), I-"

"-Dash-" You were cut off as two arms pulled you securely against his chest. Dash's hands caress the side of your arm and cheek. Your cheeks reddened, but after getting over your state of shock, you shoved him away, "Dash, please-I can't leave with this. I-I..." You shook your head, eyes closed, "I can't believe you would do something like this to me."

"What?" Dash's voice grew soft.

"Dash, I'm moving to the other side of the country." You told him, your voice small, "And-I don't know if I'm ever going to be able to come b-"

"-I...You told me you were only moving a few hours away-"

"-I lied, Dash. I-I was scared." You admitted, a sob escaping your throat, "Dash, I-I like you, too."
