Standing in front of him, his hands cuffed and mouth covered. The saddest look in his eyes, you cross your arms and bite your bottom lip.

What do I do? What do I say? Do I love him?

You can't even make eye contact with him. You're wasting precious moments. Tony will only let you have a few minutes with him before Thor takes him back to Asgard to be tried for his crimes. Is it also your crime? You fought beside him. But did you really fight beside him? You closed your eyes and winced as your head began to pound.

You remembered everything, but did you feel the same as you did before? You remember every moment of planning, every moment of fighting. You remember staying with Loki for months while he planned his attack on New York. You remember smiling, you remember seeing him smile. Was it love, or was it something else, hate?

No, you couldn't hate him. You couldn't find yourself hating him, you searched and searched for reasons and you had every right to hate him. But it felt wrong in your heart even though your gut twisted at the thought of him. The thought of hating him burned.

You saw Loki struggle to speak, you reached forward and took off the mouthpiece.

"I'm sorry dear."

~~~~~~
You sat on the roof of your New York apartment complex. You made little blocks at your palm, the building blocks floating around in your hand. Looking up at the stars, you were on the top level, meaning all the lights and traffic and noises of the city barely affected you. The star shone brightly as the Moon was in its darkest phase. You sat with your hands on your lap as your feet dangled on the edge of the building. You hummed a soft tune, not from any particular song, but just whatever your vocal cords produced. There is a heavy weight on your chest, the desperate feeling of loneliness. You crave the feeling of someone else's touch, you just want someone to talk to you.
"Pardon me?"
You yelped and jumped in your seat, you dropped the blocks that you had created and they fell 25 stories down to the cement. In one hand you quickly made a small knife in vase the person behind you was here to harm you. You looked over your shoulder and saw a tall man with black slicked-back hair and dressed in a black suit with green and gold accents. "Who are you?" you ask startled. He smiled, "I am simply a stranger, and you are?" he asks and you gulp, "A stranger too. What are you doing up here?" you ask. He sighs and takes a few cautious steps forward towards the edge.
"To sit on the ledge and look at the stars, but I didn't realize someone else had the same idea, " he says and smiles softly. "You may relax, I mean no harm to you." You fold up the small knife in slip it into your pocket.
You ease your shoulders and relax slightly. "May I sit next to you?" the man asks and you nod and watch as he sits near you, leaving you about a foot and a half of distance between the two of you. "I'm Loki, by the way, " he says and smiles, "I'm Y/N, you have an interesting name, " you say and he chuckles, "Thank you, " he says and you two sit in silence, looking up at the stars. You look for Mars and Venus, while Loki looks for Asgard.
~~~~~~

"Was any of it real?" you ask and Loki can't bear to make eye contact with you. "How do you mean?" he says and you sigh, "The late-night conversations about how you loved me, or when you said that I was your most favorite person ever, or when you said that you wanted to be with me forever. Was it lies?"
