You laughed and sat down, talking to your coworker. He was a handsome man, and really funny. But you were taken, and he knew that.
From the doorway of the rec room, Spock was watching, pretending like it didn't bother him. He'd heard how people (mostly women) talked about Lieutenant Ryan.
You laughed again, and Spock felt a strange pang go through him. It was a new feeling, and he didn't like it. He felt... Mad. He felt like he should walk over and make sure that guy knew you were his.
But, this feeling was illogical. Why was he feeling it?
Spock sighed. Thinking. Perhaps the best way to go about this was to follow his instincts.
Kind of awkwardly, he walked over and sat down, and made a show of stiffly putting his arm around you.
You erupted in a fit of giggles, and lieutenant Ryan left.
"Spock, what are you doing?" You asked, still laughing.
"I making sure people know that you and I are together." He said, and you smiled, hugging him.
He was really cute when he was awkward.
