You sighed as you made your way from class to the parking lot. It had a tough few months for you, not only did you just start college, your boyfriend of three years, Jim Kirk had left for a five year mission.
He claimed he'd be able to come back every now and then for upgrades to the ship, and shore leaves. But you hadn't seen once, and it made you worry.
Being the captain of a whole starship, on the longest exploration mission ever would most definitely be dangerous, especially with Jim as the captain.
You missed him so much. He'd been the light in your world.
You walked down the sidewalk a bit until you stopped. There were other people walking about, but only one caught your eye.
He was wearing a yellow shirt, and was turned away from you. For a second he was completely still, then he looked around.
When he turned around, you felt the air leave your lungs as you glimpsed beautiful blue eyes.
"Jim?"
"(Y/n)!" He said, enveloping you in a big hug. "I've missed you so much!"
"Why are you here? How?" You asked, tears coming to your eyes. It had been a while, and it felt good to feel his arms around you.
"The Enterprise is due for some repairs and routine inspections. They said I could visit you while Spock and Scotty keep an eye on things."
You pulled away and cupped his face in your hands. Slowly, you kissed him. He kissed back, it was full of passion and love.
"Are you hungry? I know this place that serves some awesome bulgogi." You asked, and he nodded.
Together, hand in hand you walked. You'd never been happier. It was possibly the best day since he asked you out three years ago.
You didn't want it to end.
