You looked in the mirror, and smiled. This was it, your first date with a guy. His name was Michael, and he was one of the cutest guys in the school, or so you thought.
You had had your mom buy you a dress in secret, because your father would never let you go on a date, let alone wear a dress.
It was a blue dress with yellow flowers. Personally one of your favorites. You looked up as the doorbell rang.
You ran out of the room to find Michael being patted down by your father. He used to be a starship captain, so he was really strict.
"Daaaaad, come on!" You said, sighing.
"Sorry (y/n). But you can never be sure with teenagers these days." He replied, taking Michaels wallet. "I'm gonna ask you first, because I trust you to be honest. What is in your wallet? Give all the info."
"Ummm, about thirty dollars, my drivers license, a Hastings card, my school ID, and my work ID." Michael replied, a smug smile on his face.
"Okay, so if I open this, that's all I will find correct?" Michael nodded. "So there aren't condoms?"
"DAD!"
"Just making sure." He said. Both you and your date were blushing.
"There aren't any of those in my wallet." He said, his face very red.
"Okay, I'm gonna go by your word. Because a mans word is everything." Your dad said, clapping Michael on the shoulder.
You smiled as he finally let you and him go out the door. "Sorry about my dad. He used to be the captain on a starship. So he's really tough." You said, as the two of you walked around the block.
"It's alright, my dad's pretty strict too. He was a starship doctor."
"Really? What ship? Our parents may have known each other!" You said, and he thought for a moment.
"I think it was the Enterprise."
"Oh my gosh that is so weird! My dad too. James Kirk." You said excitedly.
"Leonard McCoy."
You stopped. His dad was Leonard McCoy. The guy your father always talked about. "But I though he lived in Georgia...."
"We just moved here."
"Man," you said, taking his hand. "My dad is gonna freak."
