Y/N Pov.
As we're nearly back with the water jugs, Bonnie looks at Mike and I while we still have them in our hands.
Bonnie: You're telling me your arms ain't tired?
Y/n: Light work.
Mike: I could do this all day.
Clementine nudges me with her shoulder.
Clementine: C'mon, Mister Strong guy. Let's get to the others.
However, we suddenly hear the sound of Rebecca screaming and pick up our pace. We run over to the group and I set down the jug of water as Rebecca's screams seem to get louder even if I'm not getting as close.
Rebecca: Shit, shit. Oh, God...
Kenny: Breathe like I told you.
Carley: You got this, Rebecca. Just hang in there.
I hear Rebecca start to breathe in and out with heavier breaths.
Rebecca: Okay, okay, okay, okay. Oh, God. Oh, God!
I look over at Molly who is also trying to help Rebecca, but she just shrugs at me. And that's not all. Before we can even think about doing anything else, I hear Sarah call out for me and Clem. A very noticeable panic in her voice as the shortness of her breath is very clear.
Sarah: Y-Y/n... C-Clementine...
Clementine: What is it, Sarah?
She and I turn around only to find a shit ton of walkers heading our way much like the herd during our escape from the damn Hardware store. They're quickly pouring out of the woods. One following the next.
Y/n: Shit.
Bonnie: Shit, walkers!
Bonnie gets everyone's attention and the group notices the horde coming our way. What's more is that I think a few are...faster looking than the rest. And do I see one holding a brick in its hand?
Y/n: (Mind) What the fuck?
Mike: How'd they get that close without anyone seeing 'em? The hell's Luke?
Clementine: Kenny, we've gotta do something!
I look at Kenny and pick up my bat, tossing it to him. He catches it and I ignite my hands.
Y/n: How about it, Kenny? Want to get out some aggression?
Kenny stands up and grips the bat while looking at Clementine.
Kenny: You just keep that baby safe. Y/n, let's go.
Y/n: (Grins) No need to ask twice.
Kenny and I start to walk towards the herd coming towards us, and all I can focus on are the special walkers I'd just seen. But before I can get a few feet away, I hear Clementine call out Kenny and I's name.
Clementine: Kenny? Y/n?
I look back briefly and give her a thumbs up.
Y/n: We'll be fine.
I turn back to the crowd and with my guitar on my back and Kenny by my side... I think we'll be fine. Kenny and I approach the walkers & two come at us, a regular one raises its hands at Kenny, but he takes my bat and slams it down the middle of the walker's head. Without much noise, the walker drops.
Kenny: Dead motherfuckers!
He continues to beat it's head in as the other approaches me and I kick it's knee in like how I saw Jane do. Following that, I shoot it in the temple with a flame bullet the carves through its skull like a hot knife through already warm butter. More start coming at us and I turn to look at Kenny, but that's when I notice a walker running, not walking fast or even jogging, but running at Kenny from the side.
Y/n: Holy shit. Kenny duck!
Kenny does like I said and I form a spear made out of fire and throw it through the walker's eye; the tip of the flame spear goes through and sticks out the back of the walker's head. Not even a second longer, the walker...or I guess sprinter, hits the ground as more walkers keep coming at us. Another fast one pops up from my left, but Kenny slams my baseball bat into the side of it's head before finishing it off from the ground.
Y/n: Shit, Kenny we've gotta go!
Kenny: Fuck!
He and I leave the site and start running after the others, but as we're almost on them I see a walker having snuck up on Clem. It goes to reach for her but I quickly pop it in the back of the head with flame bullet. The walker falls to its side and the noise gets Clem's attention. As she turns around, she sees the walker and looks at me.
Clementine: Thanks for the save.
Y/n: Just repaying the favor, Clem.
She hugs me and then looks at Kenny.
Clementine: I'm glad you're okay.
Kenny nods, but more walkers come and he looks at us.
Kenny: Get up to the deck, now!
Clementine and I run to the front of the group and I signal the others to hang back with Rebecca just in case some walkers somehow climbed the stairs and got up here. I look around, but I can't find Jane or Luke. We hear speaking.
Luke: That's about as human as I've felt in a long time. I almost forgot what-
As we turn the corner, Clem and I find Jane with Luke on the ground with their arms around one another. Just as soon as we spot them, they spot us and we can't believe what we're seeing now.
Y/n: Jesus Christ...
Luke: Clementine! Y/n! Jesus, guys. It's not... um. We were just...
Clementine: What's going on?
Luke tries to speak, but I stop him. I know what they were doing.
Y/n: They were playing hide the salami.
Soon the others join us up top and Mike sets the water down on the deck as Molly and Carley help Rebecca up while Kenny and Bonnie fought back walkers. As they make it up, Molly and Carley try to get Rebecca situated. Sarah just stands by the corner as she hyperventilates, but I'm too busy to worry about her at the moment.
Carley: C'mon, Rebecca.
Molly: Over here.
Kenny comes over to us and sees Luke. His face immediately turns sour as he looks at them annoyed.
Kenny: What the fuck are you two doing up here?
Luke: Kenny! What's going on?
Kenny: We've got God-knows-how-many walkers out there, which you were supposed to be keeping an eye out for.
I look back and Mike closes the other shutter door. He and Sarah join the rest of the group, but she's still hyperventilating. Clem and I hear the sound of the walker's getting closer since their groans are getting louder.
Y/n: Shit, this doesn't look good.
Luke stands up and looks at Kenny.
Luke: Hey, hold on a second... Just tell me what's going on!
Kenny gets in his face.
Kenny: What's going on is you're a reckless fucking moron.
Luke: I'm reckless?! You know, you got a lotta nerve, Kenny!
Before the two can continue arguing, the sound of Rebecca's screams get our attention.
Rebecca: Oh, God!
Luke looks at her.
Luke: Shit, is she, uh?
Clementine: Rebecca's having the baby!
Luke: Now?
Y/n: No jackass, she's screaming for the hell of it.
Rebecca's screams keep growing louder as Carley holds onto her hand and Molly trades places with Bonnie. She gets up and comes over to us, but upon seeing Luke and Jane she just sighs in disappointment.
Molly: Really? You couldn't have waited until after we were in the clear to get your dick wet?
Rebecca screams again and I finally hear Luke apologize.
Luke: Fuck! I'm sorry.
Rebecca: Shit! Shit!
I glance over at them and Carley is putting a cover over Rebecca while Bonnie looks around for some water. I turn my attention back to the matter at hand, & as much as I'm annoyed at Luke, we're a little too busy at the moment to tear into him. I nudge Kenny's arm.
Y/n: Look, I'm as pissed as you, but we're a little busy at the moment. Tear into him after.
Mike: They're coming up the stairs!
Luke looks at Kenny.
Luke: Here. Uh... we should...
Kenny stops him and hands me back my bat before going over to Rebecca. He looks up at us as he kneels beside her.
Kenny: You wanna help? Get out there are keep the walkers off us! I'll do this. I've been here before.
Mike: They can't rush us on the stairs! Shoot 'em before they get to us!
Luke: Shit, that's a lot of 'em. We need everyone out here!
I turn to Clem.
Y/n: Kenny, Carley, and Bonnie can handle Rebecca. Let's help take out the walkers.
Clementine: I-
Kenny: Go. I've got Rebecca.
She and I head outside; we go over to the shutter door as walkers start piling up against it. The same walker with the brick in its hand tries to bang on the door but I shoot it in the head. They won't stop however, and walkers keep on pushing against the door which is barely hanging on against the weight of the dead. Luke gives Clem a gun.
Luke: Here. We can't let them up here!
Molly: Then let's knock them down before they can.
Simultaneously, all of us shoot at the walkers from behind the shutter door. We hit a good portion of them, but more just keep coming to replace the ones we knock down. Jane yells toward us.
Jane: There's just too many!
Molly: Shit!
Mike: What the fuck do we do?
Luke: Keep shooting! They are not getting up here!
I look at the door, and while I could blast down the walkers I don't want to take the door with them. Right now it's the only barricade we've got at the moment. That shutter door is the only thing keeping the dead back.
Molly: Fuck... Find something to block this gate!
Bonnie: Kids!
I glance at Clem and we start to quickly look around the deck for anything. I spot the vending machine, but I doubt I could move it and the others are too busy keeping back the walkers. A moment passes, but that's when Clem points out the small cannon. She points to it and grabs my hand.
Clementine: Let's use the cannon! It has wheels we can use to push it over!
Y/n: Good idea!
We run over to the cannon, trying to push it over, but it's simply too heavy for us. Molly notices us and runs over to help. Our trio starts pushing it until we feel the deck start to shake & break. Molly's eyes widen and she grabs us, pulling us back just in time as the others also notice that the deck is giving.
Luke: Oh, shit!
Mike: Holy fuck!
Part of the deck collapses, bringing the walkers down with it and we were just barely able to get out of the way thanks to Molly. She lets go of us and Kenny calls to us outside.
Kenny: What the fuck is going on out there?!
I don't have time to respond as I hear one of the cables holding up the deck snap and Most of the deck collapses, but the group moves to back to a sturdy part of the deck near the shutter. Molly, again, saved us. After most the deck is gone, I see Jane hanging onto the edge while Luke holds onto her arm, but not only that. I hear Sarah's voice coming from the fallen part of the deck that had just collapsed.
Y/n: Shit!
Clementine: Jane! Sarah!
Molly, Clem, and I run over to Jane as she's hanging onto the edge of the broken deck. Below her is Sarah, but she's trapped underneath some large ass part of the deck that looks like is crushing her. Molly calls down to Sarah.
Molly: Sarah, hang on!
Luke is struggling to hang onto Jane, but I'm not sure if I should help her or Sarah right now.
Luke: Fuck! Fuck, hurry! I can't hold on!
Sarah, screaming, is begging us for help.
Sarah: Help me! Y/n! Clementine! Luke!
There's a brief pause as she's trying to catch her breath.
Sarah: Molly!
Luke looks at us.
Luke: Clem, Y/n, help me pull her up! Molly! What are you guys waiting around for?!
I look at Sarah and the situation she's in as she's trapped underneath the deck.
Y/n: Shit... Clementine, Molly, you help Luke! I'll try to get Sarah!
Clementine: Wait!
Before she can stop me, I jump off the deck and land right beside her as the other two try helping Jane by pulling her up. I kneel down next to Sarah and I can see her crying as she's trying to reach out to me.
Sarah: P-Please, help me... Y-You're my friend...
Y/n: Shit, I'm going to try Sarah. Everything's... It's all going to be okay.
I look up and multiple walkers are heading towards me, so I'm quick to shoot more of them in the head. One gets a little too close, but I hit it in the head with my baseball bat after igniting it. More are coming, but they're at a distance and I look back down at Sarah and then at the part of the deck crushing her.
Y/n: Alright, Sarah. I'm going to try and lift this off of you. As I do, I need you to be a big girl and pull yourself out. Can you do that?
Still teary eyed, Sarah nods and I start to try and lift up on the part of the deck that has fallen on her. Even after using my flames to try and boost my strength some, I'm barely able to move it. And that's not the worst part; everytime I try to move it, Sarah starts to scream out in pain and I finally notice blood coming from her stomach.
Y/n: Oh, shit.
I kneel back down and I see her shirt starting to stain red with blood, and I see a piece of the fallen deck has pierced her stomach. She's not feeling it however as she's filled with so much adrenaline. I think Sarah notices me, as she starts asking what's wrong.
Sarah: Y-Y/n... W-What's wrong? I-I'm going to be okay, right? You're going to save me, right?
I can barely say anything to her. Sarah goes to look down, but I grab her hand and try to keep her eyes on me.
Y/n: S-Sarah. Don't look down, just keep your eyes on me, okay? J-Just keep your eyes on me.
Sarah: B-Behind you!
I turn around and a walker is about to pounce on me, but it's shot in the head and I look up to find Clementine holding her gun up. She and the others are looking at me, & Molly yells to me.
Molly: More are coming, hurry up!
I sigh and look down at Sarah, and the trust in her eyes is haunting. She trusts me so much, but... I can't save her. Once again, she asks me the same question as before.
Sarah: Y-You're going to save me, right? A-And when we do, I'm going to see Dad again, right? He's waiting on top of the deck.
I just give a nod.
Y/n: Y-Yeah, Sarah. You're going to see your dad again. But first, I need you to close your eyes.
As she does, I hear more gunshots as the others are keeping walkers off of me. I hold her Sarah's hand and despite not being super close with her, I can't help but feel sad as I place my hand out and ignite my fingers.
Y/n: (Mind) Goodbye, Sarah.
Seeing as there's nothing I can do for her, I make the decision to send her on to Carlos. And with a quick shot to the temple, I feel her grip loosen on my hand and I stand back up. Without a word I use my flames to boost my jump and I land back on the deck. The others are looking at me, and Luke asks about Sarah.
Luke: Where's Sarah?
Y/n: She... She couldn't be saved. So I put her down.
None of them say anything, but Rebecca's screams are still coming and Jane speaks up.
Jane: Oh, shit. They're climbing up!
We all look over to what she was saying and I see a piece of the deck still connected was giving them a way up to us. And while the others are panicking about what to do, I've simply had all I can take for today. I look back to them.
Y/n: Everyone get off the deck, now!
They all look at me and clear the deck. I step off just enough to where I won't fall when the rest comes down and I place my hand on the loose part. Lighting up my hand I send a quick blast of fire spreading all across the loose deck and with one good kick the rest of it comes down due to the weakening of the wood and supports. With the problem now taken care of, Clementine and Molly walk over to me.
Molly: Hey, Y/n, are you good?
She places her hand on my shoulder while Clementine hugs me and I hug her back. I don't say anything. All of us who were outside go back to Kenny, Rebecca, Carley, and Bonnie, but upon getting to them we see the baby wasn't crying or anything. It's even pale. Carley looks down & Molly turns her head as Clem grabs my hands and holds onto it for support. Kenny holds up the baby, but it doesn't move.
Bonnie: Oh... oh, no.
Rebecca starts crying.
Rebecca: God... no, no...
Clementine: No...
I walk over to the baby as Kenny holds it with a look of despair on his face. I place my hand on the baby's chest and increase my temperature until my hand's the same warmth as like that of a warm blanket.
Y/n: Come on, kid. We've already lost too much for you not to come through now. So don't be an asshole and live.
After a moment... The baby coughs and cries, color returning to its body. Everybody, me included, can't believe it and I remove my hand. I see Rebecca & Kenny smile along with Clementine, Carley, Molly, and the others. Kenny swaddles the baby & hands him over to Rebecca.
