"Here, kid." Your father handed your lunchbox, you smiled. "Thanks." You had to make it appear as if your destination really was school when in fact it wasn't. You were Gracie Lynn Voight, thirteen- year-old daughter to Hank Voight a respected and feared police sergeant, though you though it was more of the latter considering some of the reactions of some of the cops you had met.

You left the house locking door behind you and walked towards the car which your father was leaning on. He dropped you off at the school gates, with a kiss on the forehead. "Be good, Gracie." You smiled half-heartedly. You hopped out and shut the door. Your father roared off in his car heading towards some murder scene. You waited until his car was out of sight before turning on your heel. Walking down the street you headed towards the meeting place you had with Bunny. Bunny was Erin's mother. You had meet her when she had been at the station. You skipped pretty much every Friday to hang out with her. You sat in the diner, lying about your school having a teacher only day. Bunny was late which was occasionally like her. Today Bunny had gone to see your father about the case he was working on.

Hank had accused Bunny of being involved in the case and she had snapped that at least she knew her daughter or at least something to that effect. "What?" He snapped, his baritone voice vibrating through the room. The bullpen went silent. Erin was half out of her seat internally debating what to do next whether to throw herself in front of Bunny or see how it all played out. Alvin and Ruzek were standing at Kim's desk holding a cup of coffee each, both were mid sip. Alvin managed to swallow his without event but Ruzek choked a little. Jay was with Atwater, both of whom had stopped at the top of the stairs. Jay's eyes widened, his eyes sought Erin's in vain. Bunny smiled vindictively at Hank. "Yeah, she skips school every Friday..."

"She studies with her friends." Hank replied with a hint of a question in his voice. She raised her eyebrows at him. "She spends them with me." She grinned at him, eyes flashing. "Find her." Jay practically fled down the stairs with Atwater, (who totally wasn't scared). When they got the base, they saw you enter. "Your dad is on the warpath." Jay didn't mince words. You shrugged and began walking upstairs. You glanced over your shoulder at Jay and Atwater when they didn't follow, "Are the pair of you seriously scared of my father?" You asked incredulously and began you ascended the stairs. "Yeah, because I don't have a death wish." Jay muttered, Atwater raised his eyebrows, "You sure about that." You stood at the top of the stairs, "What's going on?"

"Bunny stopped by." You looked annoyed at the group standing before you. "Where have you been?" Hank asked as most of the seasoned, tough, fear no man cops fled the room with flimsy excuses, including Alvin. Erin stayed 'hidden' in the doorway. You shrugged one shoulder, placing your bag on Alvin's chair. "At a friend's studying." Your father then pointed his index finger at you, "Then how come you've been skipping school on Friday's?" You attempted a lie, "You're grounded." Again, you shrugged, "Alright then, it's not like you spend any time with me anyway." You grabbed your bag and left. "Where are you going?" His loud baritone echoed around you. "Home." Jay was on the landing, so you grabbed his wrist and dragged him after you. "Don't worry, Jay will drive me home and you don't need to stick an undercover on the house I would leave." The silence was deafening after you left.
