Adam watched as you adjusted your radio, being a uniformed officer, you had your radio on your shoulder rather than in your pocket or anywhere else like the detectives. Voight began to explain the plan to capture the killer they had identified. Adam had fallen for you, you had feelings for him, but you had no idea how to explain your feelings for the brash detective. Your father had been friends with Voight, so you had a fatherly relationship with the leader of the Intelligence unit. You had followed your mother's footsteps into the force, she had been killed in the line of duty during a bank robbery. She had died saving the lives of those inside. Your father and Voight had both doubled their protective instincts, but they had accepted you joining the force. You were assigned to help Atwater and Ruzek. You sat in the back of their car, Ruzek was in the front pretending his heart wasn't racing at the close proximity. He could smell the lavender from your conditioner and the spicy gilly flower from your lotion. Atwater fiddled with his collar, "Stop doing that." You told the detective, "It looks suspicious and will draw attention." Atwater raised his eyebrows but didn't speak. Voight who was listening in, pursed his lips and nodded.

Ruzek fiddled with the radio to give his shaking hands something to do and the music began to fill the silence, when you noticed something in the building you were watching. "Is it just me or did that curtain twitch?" Adam leaned forward to check the building. "Check it out." Voight's raspy baritone came through your earwigs. You all exited the car and drew your weapons, Adam watched as you headed into the building behind Atwater. Adam spoke up quietly, "Should we spilt up?" You rolled your eyes, "Sounds like an idea that could work, but if this is like any horror movie I've watched you'll be killed in the next five minutes."

"What type of horror movies do you watch? Anyway, the hero always lives." You rolled your eyes as you checked out the offices. "Cool, that means Atwater gets to live. I love his butter chicken." Atwater smiled at the bickering that was occurring. As the three of you checked out the building, Ruzek stumbled onto the floor where eight men were beginning to launch an assault on the cops that dared to destroy their gun running operation. Ruzek managed to radio you and Atwater but communications soon cut leaving the three of you without backup. He snarked back. The three of you were soon backed into a medium sized office that had one exit. The windows were an option, but you were five stories in the air. "We could call Fire to get us out of here." Ruzek suggested as he fired off a few rounds. "Oh, brilliant plan, and how do you suggest we do that? Radios and phones are down remember?" Atwater scoffed, "Now's not really the time to flirt guys. But we do need an exit strategy."

"What's our exit strategy?" You asked as you kicked a rolling chair towards the men and one tripped over it as it hit him. You shot another one.

"I had an idea and you shot it down, so now its Atwater's turn."

"Oh my god, we're all going to die." You muttered as two men dropped due to you and Ruzek shooting them as Atwater tried to alert Voight to what was happening. Sirens appeared in the distance, "Oh please be for us." Atwater muttered as five men continued to shoot at you. Three were down for the count due to being shot. The sirens disappeared. "Shit." Ruzek muttered under his breath. "I'm out." Atwater sat behind a desk. "Me too." Ruzek joined him. "Me three." You muttered. The shooting got closer as the men noticed you weren't firing back.

"CHICAGO PD! DROP YOUR WEAPONS!" Jay's shout echoed off the walls and he was soon joined by Voight, Kim and their back up. "Oh, thank god." Ruzek muttered. "You guys good?" Voight yelled out. "Yes sir." Atwater yelled back, he stood. Ruzek stood and helped pull you to your feet. "You good?" Ruzek muttered to you. You nodded, "Not my first shootout and won't be my last." Atwater laughed, "Good you two are pathetic at flirting." Ruzek tried to protest as Jay began to agree. "Just ask her out man." Voight and Kim came back into the room, "Head back to the district and fill out reports on what happened." The three of you walked back to the car, Atwater rolled his eyes as Ruzek opened your door and shut it behind you. "Just ask her out man." Ruzek huffed and grinned, "I don't know man." They both entered the car and the pestering to ask you out stopped. Ruzek's eyes kept flickering to you, as you watched Chicago dance through the window. Atwater shook his head, hoping Ruzek would get his head out of his ass and ask you out. Atwater pulled up to district and watched as you hopped out and walked up the stairs into the building. "Why won't you ask her out?" Ruzek sighed, "I don't know, man. I don't know." Atwater sighed as they both got out of the car heading towards the building and saw you waiting at the bottom of stairs, "Just get your head out of your ass before you lose her." Ruzek nodded and watched as you stood and followed Atwater up to the Intelligence Unit's bullpen.
