Chapter 66

Maya's POV

We snuggled on the couch watching Emma's chosen movie. I sat in the middle with my hands around each of my girls.

Carina's head was resting on my chest fighting to stay awake.

"Beautiful you can sleep, it's okay" I whispered to her.

"Mhhm" she said half asleep already. I moved my hand up to her head and started to play with her brown locks.

"Look Mamma" Emma was so fixated on her movie that she didn't notice her mother was already fast asleep.

"Princess Mamma is asleep." I said with a smile.

"Is it because of the stomach bug?" Emma asked with raised eyebrows. Her Mamma's temper was rubbing on her.

"Sí Emma" I smiled at her. I felt so guilty that we were lying to her but I understood the reason behind it. "Don't worry Mamma will be okay. It's just a different kind of stomach bug, it lasts a little longer than what we had. Mamma needs to sleep more and she can't lift heavy things for a while okay?" I did my best to explain a situation without giving too much away.

" No carrying me? " Emma looked at me with wide eyes.

" Only for a while. I can still carry you anywhere you wish" I flashed a smile at her "But I bet Mamma would like more hugs so how about Mamma gets my snuggles and I get Mamma's carrying duty?"

"Sí but you still get snuggles too" she said with a serious face and buried herself deeper into my embrace.

"I love you Emma. Let's finish the movie and after that we can call Uncle Travis and Emmett over for a play date" I suggested. I was really excited to tell them about our success.

"Yey. We can even go on  Crisis 1 call then" she was so excited to play with her uncles. And knowing Travis, he'll be all in with the suggestion of a play date.

I grabbed my phone carefully from my back pocket not to wake my sleeping wife up and texted Travis.

"Your uncles said yes" I informed Emma with a smile.

"Yey. The movie is almost finished" she said happily. Of course she would know since she has already watched it probably 10 times already.

Carina started to move on my chest. I removed a messy lock from her face.

"Buongiorno Bella" she smiled at me with her eyes still closed.

"Did you have a nice nap?" I asked her

"Sí Adoro dormire quando sei vicino a me (Yes I love sleeping when you're close to me)" She answered in Italian

"And I love holding you close to me" I placed a soft kiss on her head "Travis and Emmett come over around 3 o'clock" I said gently.

"Okay, Bella. What time is it now?" She asked with her sleepy voice.

"Half past one" I had an idea but I needed to go to the mall "Beautiful is it okay if I run to the mall? I have an idea how to tell them that..." I looked at Emma

"Yeah" she smiled happily "I'll make something to eat with our little chef while you're gone" she added

"Okay but don't overwork yourself." I kissed the top of her head before getting up from the couch.
