Chapter 47

Maya's POV

We had five days to organise Emma's birthday party.

After tomorrow I thought we could do a big family party including her aunties and uncles and her friends from daycare.

It was early in the morning so I had a few moments with Carina alone before we had to leave for work.

"Car?" I grabbed her attention as I turned to her.

"Sí Bella" Carina's eyes locked into mine

"How about a station birthday?" I blurted out

"With your team?" She smiled

"Well yes but I was thinking about inviting your friends from the hospital and also Emma's friends which is more or less the same." Leo and Allison were Teddy's kid. Ellis and her siblings were Meredith's in this way Carina could have her friends as well

"Really?" she was so happy "Won't it be too much for Emma?" she asked worrying about Emma a little

"I don't think so. She knows everyone and loves them." I said smiling "We could have a theme such as first responders" I was brainstorming "We could use the firetrucks for the firefighter's and the PRT for the doctor's experience. We can buy some costumes for the kids."

"Bella how long were you thinking about it?" Carina giggled

"A few days" I admitted

"I think the kids will love the theme Bella. We need to do the invitations since it will be at the end of the week and some of our friends might be on call." I loved seeing her happy smile. I kissed her with passion which earned a low moan from Carina. "Bella we don't have time for that. We need to organise and your daughter will be up in a few minutes."

"I see. She is mine if she shares the same characteristics. Well I don't mind her early snuggles" I smiled

"me neither Bella." she paused "So we have agreed on the place, date and the theme. I will leave you in charge of the cake. I have no doubt about you knowing the best bakery in the city" she kissed me laughing

"Ohh yeah." I said proudly "Now we need an idea for a big gift?"

"Big?" Carina asked

"It's her first real birthday so she deserves something big" I said thinking.

The problem was that her family already bought everything she could ask for.

"Maya?" Carina's voice was weak. "I know our life is already hectic as it is but we also love challenges so I was thinking.." She paused. I had an idea where this conversation was heading. I did knew how I felt about it "How about a puppy?" she finished her sentence

I sat up and turned towards her. "Are you serious Beautiful?" I asked her. I had no idea how we could manage the puppy on top of everything else and I had different ideas about expending our family.

"What will we do if we finally decide on trying for a baby?" I was a little bit disappointed because I thought she haven't thought about that possibility

"Ohh Bella." She sat up as well. "I want them all. I want our kids to grow up with a dog as their best friend. I know we need to start trying soon which means we'll have an almost 6 years old with an almost fully trained dog. I still think we will be able to manage our not so little family in the future. " I was crying at this point.

I was the one against babies in the first place and now I just couldn't wait to see Emma as a big sister.
