"Wow. You look a million bucks Scarlett." Zaine exclaimed in excitement whilst I got out from the car.
Whatever you're thinking happened with Patrick the other afternoon, you're probably thinking correct. I know. Whatever the consequences that come out of it will be messy. Not just for me, but for him too. Though now wasn't the right time to think about what went on between us.
"You don't look too bad yourself Cordy." I exclaim at the footballer with a smile. Quietly observing him, I noticed that he's decked out in a white dress shirt and blue tailored pants.
I was greatful to have Zaine with me here at the coach's dinner tonight. Sure, I'd have Nate. But outside of him, it was good that I had Zaine to help lightening things up in case the night dragged on.
Georgia seemed excited for us to be heading off to the event, but I could tell she was a little uneasy about Zaine's date Cora for this evening, who is the basketball league owner's daughter. But if Zaine's fiancé actually listened to me, there was nothing to worry about.
Zaine began gesturing behind me as I looked at him confused.
"What?" I added, suddenly turning around. To my surprise, there was Nate standing in front of me. Although I was used to seeing him decked out in suits during game days, I had to admit that I was in awe at his all black attire he was in tonight.
"So we've forgotten how to speak English all of a sudden, aye?" Zaine exclaimed as I shot him an annoyed look.
"It's good to see you Scarlett. Thanks for coming to this dinner with me." Nate softly added, as I bowed my head for a moment. I couldn't hide the smile that formed upon my face.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world coach." I say looking up, a small smirk forming on my face. We both continued to look at each other. My heart picking up its pace. Zaine had suddenly cleared his throat, before wriggling his eyebrows at the slender coach.
"Oh yeah, it's good to see you too Zaine. I'm happy that you could come along too. I think I saw Cora somewhere at the party." He exclaimed, as I noticed his eyes observing me.
"Who's Cora?" Zaine asked dumbfound as I let out a sigh.
"The league owner's daughter remember? She said she was a huge fan of you Zaine, and you agreed to be her date tonight." I reminded him as he slowly nodded his head.
"Oh yeah. Hopefully Georgia won't mind. I only said yes so I could see you and Nate together. But also because you said her dad was rich which translates to there being really fancy food here tonight." Zaine exclaimed as I rolled my eyes.
