"What about a party?" I suggested to Desire who was sitting at the table with me trying to figure out what we could do for Dave's birthday which was this weekend.
"How big of a party?" She raised her eyebrow and I just smiled innocently "Kain!" She laughed
"What? You can't tell me he doesn't deserve a big party! It's been how long since he's had one?" I told her "Besides Heaven's going to her grandparents house and Carter's parents are taking Kairo so you'll be kid free"
"I won't be kid free" She pointed at her stomach laughing "But yeah he does deserve a good birthday. He's been getting himself together and stepping up more so we could do a party for him" She agreed
"Carter already said he'll DJ"
"So what kind of food you want to serve?" She asked as she wrote things down
"Pizza and wings" I shrugged "It ain't gonna be no proper party more like a kick back or some so Pizza, wings and some liquor and we should be good" I said
"Where is this party going to take place at Kain? Because I will not have no strangers in my house" She waved the pen at me
"No worries! It can happen at this little venue in Brooklyn we can rent out and have the party there" I told her
She stared at me for a minute
"Fine. We can call today and rent it and then we can handle the rest after we make sure we have the spot secured" She told me getting up walking over to the fridge getting a water out
"Sounds good. Remember it's a surprise so don't mention it" I reminded her
"Don't worry. I won't say anything" She smiled
"Daddy" I heard Rashawn yell before appearing at the door
"Wassup kid?" I asked him
"I want Ice cream" He walked to the fridge trying to open it "Tete" He pulled on Desire since she was right next to the fridge
"Ask your dad" She told him and he turned to me
"Daddy Ice cream?"
"Just one!" I told him as Desire open up the freezer giving him a Popsicle running out
"The rest are going to be here in 5,4,3,2" She said and got cut off by Kairo,Abby and Heaven running into the kitchen "Slow down!" She told them and they stopped
"Mommy we want ice cream" Heaven spoke for them
"Just one because then you're going to be too hyper tonight" She told them handing each of them one watching head back out "You know Layla's doing better" She turned to me
"No I didn't. I haven't even had a chance to talk to her. So she gonna be able to take care of Abby again soon?" I asked her
I'm hoping for Layla to get better because although Desire doesn't say anything I know raising three kids and being pregnant is taking a toll on her
