"Hello how can we help you?" The lady at the front desk asked

"Yes I have an appointment with Mrs.Rogers" I spoke

"Name?"

"Desire Wiliams" The lady called

I got up from my seat walking into the office

"Miss.Williams?" Mrs.Rogers said with a confuse expression on her face as she read the paper then looked at me

"Yes"

"Welcome take a seat" She said as she shook my hand

I took a seat putting my purse in my lap

"It says on the paper that your last name is jones. Did you get a name change?" She asked

"Oh yeah I recently changed my last name to my fathers"

"Oh I see. I'll make sure to change it so you won't have no problems in the future" She said as she typed away "Now you're here regarding your paper work correct?"

"Yes ma'am. I just don't understand why it says they're not valid when I got them after I passed my bar test"

"Where did you take the bar test?" She asked turning to look at me for a split second before turning her attention back to the screen

"At Lehman College"

"And who exactly gave you the test?"

"One of the professors there"

"See Miss.Williams the problem is that in order to be a licensed lawyer you have to go to law school for at least 3 years as well as take more test than just the bar test. In our records it says that you did none of that besides take the bar test which they shouldn't even have been able to give to you so that's why your papers are invalid. If anything this is a fraud" She spoke

I sat there confused because I wasn't told any of this. If they would've told me that when I started I wouldn't even wasted my time going there. I would've went straight to law school.

This wasn't making any sense though. Why wouldn't they tell me and let me think I was actually a lawyer.

That's when it hit me

Los

I wonder if he knew. He had to know. He was the one that set everything up. He probably paid that professor a good amount of money for that.

"I'm sorry I didn't know that. I was told when I went to sign up that I could get everything done there and there wasn't a need for me to go to another school."
