A Favor and A Surprise

Months passed by after our first date. Even though I've been hesitant about letting Killian into my life he's been a sweet heart. We have actually gone out on several dates but we haven't become an actual couple you know. Killian has been amazing and is working harder than ever but today he came into work acting really strange.

He walks by and I stop him. "What's wrong Killian?" He grabs my hand and we walk to my office. He closes the door and locks it. He hands me his phone and sighs. "Listen to the voicemail." I gave him a baffled look and played the voicemail. "Killian, honey I can't wait to hear about your life and how everything's going and I can't wait to meet your fiancée Emma, see you in Hawaii on the weekend, kisses dear. We love you and miss you."

My eyes shot open as I gasp. "Oh my they think I'm your fiancée?" He hides his face in shame. "Yes, I think it's because they see us together in the magazines and everything and since I left my hometown they think it was because of a woman." I smiled and chuckled. "Ah you got to love family." He nodded. "I have to call them and let them know we aren't engaged unless..." He says and chuckles. I stayed quiet.

"Can you please come with me and just pretend to be my fiancée?" I gasp. "What?" "Oh come on, please Emma." I shake my head. "We are far to busy this weekend." He laughs. "Nope you are actually free this weekend and anyways we can manage and lie to everyone here and say that we are on a business trip." I sighed. "Oh alright, just because its you." He hugged me. "Oh my gosh thank you Emma." "You are very welcome." I say and back away.

We just stared into each others eyes. I couldn't help but feel lost while staring into those gorgeous blue eyes. He just scanned my face and started to caress my cheek. I couldn't help but smile. Even though I felt so vulnerable and scared, everything felt so right. He leaned in closer to me and we were about an inch apart. He looked at my lips and smiled. I felt his breath and my was my heart racing. I closed my eyes and I could just imagine how his lips would feel against mine and thats when we hear a knock.

I quickly backed away and ran to my desk. Killian shakes his head then goes and opens the door. Lacy walks in and lets us know that we were assigned more interns. "What, why are we getting new interns?" I ask Lacy. "Our boss well your co-worker wants us to train them because we are combining our institute and FSA and well yeah so come on out so you can meet them." I nod and Killian closes the door and locks it.

"This is perfect while we are both away we can leave those interns in charge of our work." I shake my head and laugh. "I believe so but now with all this movement wouldn't it look suspicious if we go to Hawaii?" He smiles. "Oh on the contrary my beautiful boss." He says and I blush like crazy. "There's a Fashion Institute in Honolulu and we can make arrangements and go see what they have and that will get the CEO and the editor off our backs and Lacy can cover the rest for us." I smile. "Wow you really want me to go visit your family huh?" He nodded and sat on top of my desk. "Of course I want you to go Love." I pushed him off the desk and he laughed.

He got up and we both went outside. We walk out and to our surprise we see two familiar faces there. We see our ex lovers standing next to August. "What's this August?" He smiles. "Emma meet your two new interns Neal and Milah." Killian and I stood there shocked. Neal was my ex and Milah was Killian's ex. "Pleasure to meet you Emma." Neal says as he extends his hand towards me. I ignore it and scoff. "So are we dismissed August?" He nods and walks away.

"Ok Milah, Neal follow me, it's time to work, Killian please accompany me and help me show these two what we do." Killian nods and follows me. We walk towards the HR room so they could get their credentials and so they could talk to them about ethics and all that stuff. While they are inside Killian grabs me and scoffs. "What the heck is Milah doing here?" "I don't know but its suspicious." He nods. I felt uneasy and he looked at me sighed. "Emma what's wrong?" I sighed. "He's the one who broke my heart Killian, that stupid man that's in there." I say. His eyes shot open and he hugged me. "Oh no, that's him! I'm so sorry." I smiled as I hugged him. "It's ok, I'm sorry that Milah is here, you know."

He nods and lifts up my chin. "Hey we will not let them interfere with what we have and I will leave them a lot of work to do so we can go in peace to Hawaii." I smile and nod. He hugs me again and I continued to smile like crazy. I couldn't help but but feel safe and loved while embraced in his arms. Since he is a very tall man, when I have my heels on I reach up to his chest and that's where I decided to lay my head upon. I felt loved but then I felt it again that tug in my heart and my brain automatically said hello you can't be this vulnerable Emma stop hugging him. And that's when I let go of his embrace and that's when Neal and Milah come out. I cough. "Ok lets go you two, there's a lot more to show you." They nod.

After the tour I walk up to my office and there is one desk next to Killian's and another on the other side of my office. "This is your work station and you will be here literally all day long doing my errands, and working on giving reports and such." They nod. "Milah, your desk will be next to my office and Neal..." I say and he smiles at me. "You will sit next to Killian and you are in charge of doing all the reports and you Milah are in charge of doing all my errands." They both stood quiet. "I am your boss but so is Killian." Killian nods. "Emma and I will be leaving to Hawaii for a week, we have things to take care of over there, while we are over there you two will be in charge of answering any calls and schedule meetings or anything that your boss might need while we are away. I will still have the company phone and Emma will have her personal one, you will call her only if its absolutely needed." I smiled and nodded. "Thanks Mr. Jones, so now chop chop get to work you two." They sat down and nodded.

I walk into my office and Killian stays outside. I sit down and all the memories of Neal came back into my mind and I felt like crying. He's the reason why I became so cold hearted and harsh. I hear a knock. "Yes who is it?" I say out loud as I wipe my tears. The door opens and Neal walks in. "How are you doing Emma?" I get up and scoff. "Oh its boss for you Mr. Cassidy." He chuckles. "Oh come on Emma you know that its me Neal. Hey why are you so harsh, cold and strict, you were never like this, what happened to that happy and fun Emma I used to know?" My blood begins to boil. "This is what you made me Neal, oh and what the hell are you doing here?" I scream.

He walks up to my desk and and I walk towards the window and I could see that Killian was talking to Milah and by the looks of his face he was also asking her what she was doing here. "I wanted to see you again and I knew that as your intern I would be close to you but I didn't know that Killian had beaten me to that position." I nod. "Yes Mr. Jones is a very efficient and hard working intern." I say as I smile. "Oh he's more than that Emma, isn't he?" I scoff. "Excuse me Mr. Cassidy?" He chuckles. "Oh come on Emma, I see the way he looks at you, it's the same way I look at you with Love in his eyes, do you love him Emma?"

"Neal I haven't seen you since I was 21, so you have no right to ask about my life." He stood there and smiled. "Well I still love you Emma and that's why I'm here, and you can't lie to me I know that deep down inside you still love me." He walks closer to me and stares into my eyes and that's when Killian walks in. "Neal you are needed outside; I need to explain to you the reports you need to do." Neal laughs and nods. "I do love you," he mouths and walks out. I scoff.

He walks out and Killian smiles at me and I smile back. I sit down and I look at my computer and I start to read some emails. I put some orchestra music on and when I finished I leaned back on my chair, closed my eyes and just tried my best to relax. I hear the door open and I knew that it was Killian. "How you doing love?" He says and walks over to me.

I stay quiet and he walks towards me and stands over me. I look up and he's looking down at me. He kisses my forehead. "So you ready to go and get your stuff packed to go to Hawaii?" I nod. "Alright, let's go." We both get up and walk out the door. We walked up to Milah and Killian hands her another agenda with all numbers and such. "Milah this agenda has every one of my client's numbers and like Mr. Jones said you will be in charge of setting up meetings and everything while we are gone and Neal I expect daily reports sent to my email of the work you both do that particular day."

He nods and Lacy walks over to us. "Lacy will look over the drafts for the designs of the new collection, Lacy please teach these two how things work around here while we are gone." Lacy smiles. "Of course Emma." She says and winks at us. I shake my head as I laugh. "I hope you two learn everything by the time I get back." I start to walk away and I turn back around and smile. "Oh welcome to Fashion Avenue Institute!" They nodded and we walked away.
