Done after hearing the song Someone Like You (by Adele) somewhere XD

Enjoy!

Kim Jongdae was a strong person. And the best you'd ever met.

There was no one like him.

He said he was stubborn, and faulted, but you had not met someone with such wit, humour and playful nature.

And you didn't think you'd meet another like him.

'Hello Mr Kim,' you said brightly as you entered the house to find Chen.

'Hello Ashley,' Chen's father replied cordially, nodding. 'Chen's coming.' And finding that you were well used to Chen's slow ways, he walked off, newspaper tucked under his arm.

'Hey Ashley.' Chen appeared on the staircase in his cute grey beanie, leaning on the rails with a small smile.

'Hey there, slowpoke.' you muttered.

He ignored the jab. 'Let's go to the park.'

'Which one? The one near your house or the one next to the row of shops?'

'The one we never go to.'

You stared. The two of you always went to the one by the shops, since Chen always protested that the other park was too boring.

Seeing your incredulous expression, he swallowed and licked his dry lips. 'Uhh... I thought you'd like a change, you'd always wanted to see the flowers... Aren't there beautiful hydrangeas and tulips growing there?'

'Yeah? But you've never been interested.'

'I am now.'

'Are you?' you prodded.

'Yeah.' He didn't elaborate any further.

'Then let's go.' And from that moment there was a seed of suspicion and worry planted inside your heart. He was hiding something.

'What's wrong, Ashley?'

Your eyes darted to him nervously, from his eyes to his cheeks to his other features. He looked fine. 'Nothing,' you replied, feeling slightly more reassured.

Perhaps he wasn't hiding anything.

'Oh look.' Chen pointed towards a row of flowers.

A smile bloomed on your face. 'I know right. They're my favourite. So delicate and beautiful- oh dear, but look at that one; it's wilting.'

Chen grinned ruefully but it didn't quite reach his sparkling eyes. You didn't notice though, you were busy wandering off and admiring other plants.

If only you knew, Ashley. You're friends with a wilting bloom amidst a bouquet of fresh, vibrant ones.

The two of you spent the afternoon comfortably strolling around the park, stopping by the lake mid-walk to enjoy the view of the water. And eventually you walked back to place full of flowers as the sun's light began to fade.

You jumped up and down. 'Chen, woah, look at this-' You glanced towards Chen, who suddenly was walking away. 'Hey, where are you going?'

'Oh I need to get something. Like now.' he explained awkwardly.

'Hmm... I'll come with you.'

'Nah, it's okay. I'll go myself. Be back soon.'

You worriedly watched him disappear. What was that?
