You reach forward to touch him but air taunts you.
You ask him why but only the silence of your still apartment answers.
He is only air in her longing arms,
He is only wind to her listening ears,
He is only a breeze upon her face,
And only he is blind to her despairing tears.
'Where are you?' you shout, screaming, but your voice has left with him.
And only the silence of your still apartment replies once more.
Tell me where've you gone, my love,
And I'll follow you to the very end,
But the questions remains; do you want me to,
For our love can you not amend?
You slump on the bed the two of you shared, but now shared no longer.
Because he isn't here.
You inhale his scent that lingers but it is fading too quickly.
For he is gone.
Together, we shared a love so bright,
So beautiful as we were one,
But when you left, and one became two,
The love we had was done.
You start to cry, but your tears have already dried. And so you choke, because the air which is your life has left you.
He is your everything; your air and life source.
And now he was gone.
