I heard Betty sigh on the other side of the field.

"Alright. We can start now." I said.

"Thanks your highness." Betty teased.

"You're very welcome."

I took my sunglasses off and put them in their case. I put them in my pocket and prayed they wouldn't get broken.

Betty launched her ribbons my way but I dodged them. With each dodge, I tried to steal a glance but she always avoided my eyes.

With Betty's reflexes, I'll never get her to look me in the eyes. Unless...

Betty's weakness is that she's too kind. Especially when it comes to us. If I could make her think I'm hurt, she'll forget about avoiding my eyes.

When she attacked me again, I acted like she hit me. I heard her gasp, but instead of coming to check on me, she got a ribbon around my ankle and held me up.

"Hey!" I whined. "Let me down!"

"I knew it." Betty said. "Trying to exploit my weakness."

Then she dropped me. Out of bounds that is.

"The winner of this round is Betty LA!" Midnight cheered.

"Sorry for that." Betty apologized.

"Don't apologize for winning." I responded.

Betty helped me up and we headed back up to the bleachers.

"You would've fooled her if you weren't so dramatic." Kat laughed.

"She would've never fooled me." Betty said.

"When I was eight, I faked being sick so I wouldn't have to go to school." Allen said. "You believed that."

"You faked that?"

"Yeah."

Ouch. Embarrassing

I snickered. "That's an L, Betty. Maybe next time."

Betty sighed and sat down.

"I'm sorry." I said sitting down next to her. "You're still great."

Betty smiled at me. "You too."

"I know."

"And to think Kat wants to fight you guys." Denki commented.
