a/n: i really like how this turned out! hope y'all do too :) p.s there's some gory?¿ parts at the beginning.
You didn't plan for your life to end like this.
You'd always thought you would live a long, semi-happy life surrounded by your friends in Beacon Hills.
You should've known that when you were cornered at the edge of a deep lake that only one of you would make it out alive. It definitely wasn't going to be you.
Theo stepped out from behind the shadows of the trees surrounding the lake, "it didn't have to be like this, y/n, you could've joined me."
"You know I can't, Theo. I never wanted to join your 'pack', I was only getting intel for Scott. Being a human has its advantages." You shrugged.
Scott had asked you, even though he really didn't want you to say yes, to try and be a part of Theo's pack to see what his real plan was. You, of course, accepted. It had been your goal to be a valuable member of the McCall pack ever since they became your friends and told you all about the supernatural despite the risks that came with knowing.
What was happening now was the risk you knew you accepted.
"I really don't like it when people deceive me." Theo snarled.
He stepped closer to you, now you could easily see the darkness in his eyes.
There wasn't anything you could do, you were in the middle of nowhere after being separated from the pack.
His snarl turned into an eerie smile as he was only inches from you, "I'll make this quick- say hi to Allison for me."
Before you had a chance to process what he said you were face down in the water and struggling to breathe. Your body automatically tried to escape his tight grasp, flailing around as you tried to kick him and loosen the grip.
Nothing worked.
Your life well and truly flashed before your eyes, every moment of your life in Beacon Hills, your friends, family and most importantly, Allison.
Everything in your body shut down as the oxygen supply to your brain was cut off.
Your body fell limp in Theo's grip and he stood up, wiping his hands dry of the lake water before leaving you alone in the woods for your friends to find later.
-
It wasn't how you pictured it all.
The afterlife was completely different, but one thing wasn't.
The girl approached you slowly, her brunette hair hung just slightly above her shoulders as she wore a short, white dress.
Your heart beat extremely fast, "Allison?" Your voice came out as a quiet squeak as you were surprised to see her.
Her smile wavered as she spoke, "hello, y/n, I can't believe you're here." Her eyes seemed extremely watery as she rushed towards you, enveloping you in a tight hug.
You instinctively wrapped your arms around her, squeezing her tightly.
It felt weird- you could feel your actions and how everything felt but at the same time you felt detached from your body.
"I can't either." You replied, your mind flashing back to how you ended up here.
Allison stepped back and looked at you properly, her hazel brown eyes still watery, "I know it feels weird at first, it takes a while to get used to it."
You looked away, at your new surroundings.
It was exactly like Beacon Hills, but it was devoid of other people.
You felt Allison's hand slip into yours, "everyone else is here, Erica, Boyd, Aiden..." she sighed, "when I saw you here I really didn't want it to be true, you deserved to live a full life, y/n."
"I-" you were about to tell her that you wish you weren't there either, but it wasn't true, "I'm actually glad to be here... I'm glad to be here with you."
She looked at you sadly, then she saw that you were sincere, "I have to admit I've been waiting for the day I'd get to see you again... I just thought you would've moved on by now."
"How could I move on?" You asked, "you were, and still are, the love of my life, Allison Argent."
"And you are mine." She smiled softly, she didn't look any different than when she was alive.
You dreaded to see what you looked like.
Until you looked down at yourself, you seemed to have been changed into a fresh outfit and your hair wasn't soaked as if you hadn't drowned at all.
"You look beautiful, y/n." She said, tucking a stray hair behind your ear gently.
"It's so strange... how...?" You asked, hoping she understood.
She shrugged, "no idea, this is how I ended up here too." She looked down at her dress and smiled.
Allison noticed you still looking uncomfortable, "shall we go see Erica?"
You nodded, "yeah, I'd like that."
Walking through the deserted Beacon Hills hand in hand with Allison was strange yet comforting. You walked past Scott's house and suddenly you felt a dull ache in your heart.
"Don't worry, he'll be fine," Allison said proudly as if she'd read your mind, "they'll all be fine."
Allison told herself that on a daily basis, it was the only thing that kept her hopes up in this dreary town apart from her new-found friendship with Erica and Boyd. But she now had a new reason to stay in the afterlife of Beacon Hills.
Once you reached the house where Erica and Boyd resided together, Allison walked straight inside as if she owned the place.
"Erica!" She called out as she wondered through to the kitchen with you following behind.
"Yeah?" You heard a familiar voice reply.
"We have a new addition to our family." Allison grinned, she'd formed a family-like bond with her new friends and was glad you'd be a part of it.
"Y/n?" Erica asked as she spotted you.
Erica looked angelic, her golden blond curls fell past her shoulders and her smile lit up the room as she headed towards you and hugged you.
"Hey, Erica." You replied, hugging her tightly.
Although you'd never been the closest friends with her, you still felt a connection to her, with her being part of Derek's pack and Scott's friend.
"So, what brings you here?" She asked lightly.
Allison glared at her, "you can't just ask her that, Erica!"
Erica sighed, "sorry."
You thought about it for a moment, deciding you may as well tell them, "Theo, you haven't met him but he's trying to create his own pack, drowned me."
At that exact moment Boyd walked in, "that's deep."
All of the girls turned to stare at him, he quickly retreated, muttering a 'sorry' before disappearing.
"Ignore him." Erica added.
You smiled, "it's fine."
"It's really nice seeing you again, y/n." Erica said.
"We should go find you somewhere to stay." Allison suggested.
The both of you ended up wondering around Beacon Hills for hours, totally forgetting about finding somewhere to stay.
You told Allison all about what she'd missed whilst she was gone, how much the pack missed her and how much you missed her.
"And my dad?" She finally asked quietly.
"He's doing as well as he can, he's back in Beacon Hills now after he left for France. He still misses you." You told her.
"I miss him too." She said quietly.
You both walked for another hour until you reached the house Allison was staying in.
"Why don't you just stay with me?" She asked bashfully.
"I'd love that." You smiled over at her as she blushed slightly.
"I think you're gonna make this a much better place now that you're here." She admitted.
"It already is with you here." You grinned, taking hold of both of her hands and leaning closer to her.
She closed the distance and pressed her lips against yours, the sensation felt the same as when you first kissed her.
The afterlife wasn't going to be that bad after all.
♡
