Jaehyun POV

"No," I said, clearing my throat. "I haven't spoken to him."

Again, silence. This time it lasted a bit longer, and I could hear the clock tick ever so slowly. As minutes passed, the ticking got louder. My thoughts ran wild, and the more I thought about Angel, the more frustrated I got.

"Why don't we-"

"Why don't we call it a day?" Doyoung said, placing a hand on my shoulder as he cut me off.

"I agree," Johnny said, yawning.

"What time is it?" Sungchan asked.

"Almost 7, but we've been in this meeting since noon," Yuta answered.

I watched as everyone got up, saying their goodbyes as they left. I remained seated, staying behind. Doyoung gripped my shoulder as he stood.

"I know what you were going to say," he began. "But calling an immediate search party, or getting other departments involved could cause trouble for all of us. If new spread that she was missing for even two hours, getting the police and press involved could be an issue for both us and K Group."

I nodded, remaining silent.

He was right.

If the press and departments were informed of her disappearance, excluding Lieutenant Jung, it could hurt our images. Not only that, but it would make finding her so much harder if we're constantly hounded by reporters for an answer.

We'd be the first key suspects, and people would later find out most of us are in the mafia.

After some time of taking a minute to regain my composure, I finally stood, being the last one to leave the conference room. I didn't bother calling anyone to bring my car from the parking lot, wanting to go myself.

Heading home might be the best option for now.
