#157 (Can't Remember.)

I can't remember a thing.
What did I do yesterday?
I know I went to school,
I know what I ate,
Yet when it comes to specifics,
Nothing comes to mind.

I thought I hadn't answered,
But I had,
And made a fool of myself,
By repeating my words.
Perhaps I've gotten complacent,
With the same two words,
At least four times a day,
That I no longer recall uttering them.
But that doesn't explain,
Why nothing ever sticks,
Unless it's useless to my education,
And is simply for my enjoyment.

"What happened today?"
"I don't know."
"I can't remember."
"My mind has gone blank."
"Did I miss something?"
All statements,
Or questions,
I have said to those who know me,
A countless amount of times.
