Lights Out

Kendrick's POV


The Light in the Elevator went Dim , and the Situation became all too real , Trapped in an Elevator with a guy I intended to stay away from . I Instantly went into a Frenzy pressing every button in the Elevator , Over and over and Over again . I was starting to Panic , I really didnt like small places , I barely like to sleep with others in the Bed with me , so Being stuck in an elevator wasnt the best thing for me . I Continued to press every Button Over and Over with more force as If that would make the elevator start up again . I Began to breath Heavy as the thought of Death started to Play in my head , I was Literally on the brink of a Break Down , when Amir's Hand graced mines .

Amir: Thats Not going to Make It start back Up

Kendrick: It Beats standing there all Cool , with a Leather Jacket pretending to be James Dean

Amir: Ouch .

Amir: If you Dont Mind Backing up . I can get us out of here alot faster than You Playing with the Buttons

Kendrick: What are you Mechanic Now ?

Amir: No , But the sign clearly says in case of an emergency , use Phone to Call in . Im Pretty sure this an Emergency .


I Just stood there with a stupid Look on my face , Then backed up and sat in the Corner with my head between my Knees , trying to Remain Calm , as Amir Called in and talked to the Emergency Response Center . The Only thing I was thinking of was Beaches , Open fields , anything But this Small Elevator .

Amir: You Can Relax Now , help is On the Way .


I Looked up at him , and his Boyish Smirk , And tucked my head back between my legs , Im sure I came across as a Complete Looney Toon , But I Couldnt Focus on anything else but Open skys and Breezy wind . About Fifteen Minutes had went by , and the Constant thought of Dying in this Elevator flowed through my head , I was certain that we were about to plumit to Our Death . I Started to Feel short of breath , It felt like I was about to Pass out at any given moment

Amir: Aye you Ok ?

Kendrick: ..........

Amir: Its Best Not to Over react , Just stay calm and Cool , and Help should Be here

Kendrick: WHEN , cause im about to pass the F***k out

Amir: I Just saw one the commercials the Other day

Amir: Why you being Snotty , I was only trying to take your mind off of being trapped in the Elevator , SInce you were over there Breathing like a Fat kid without his asthma Pump . You Seem to be breathing just Fine Now , So I guess i'll Shut the F***k up


His tone Changed , Normally Whenever I threw Shade at him , he just let it roll off his chest and came back at me with another off the wall question , Im guessing My B***hiness Struck a Nerve . It truly was a Nice thing he was doing , Distracting me from my own mind . It Ate me up inside that he wasnt the one to Blame anymore , He wasnt the Jerk , The a***e , Or Egotistical , I was .

Amir: So About that Business . Is it something you always wanted to do


I Just looked at him , He really wanted to have small talk , and He looked Damn interested too . What the Hell I thought , If it would get my mind off of being Stranded in this Elevator , Why not talk to him .

Kendrick: Initially , No . I wanted to be a Chemist , Create Cures and experiment with Different Things

Amir: So what Changed your Mind

Kendrick: I met a Guy you Reminded me alot myself , Basically we had the same dreams , He Opened my eyes to Life As much as we like to Pretend that having a Degree and Being able to say Im This and Im that , and I DId This and Accomplished that . Thats not what life is about , Its about at the end of my days , Am I going to be able to say I Lived , I Loved , I Laughed . That I enjoyed every second of my Life , I wanted to be Exactly where he was , I wanted to Practically be him . To Find out he Didnt even Want to be himself .

Amir: Wow , Thats Deep .

Kendrick: Its not really that Deep

Amir: No , it really is , Alot of People Love to Define what Living is . I remember My Mom wasnt supportive of my music Career , she thought I should be like all my Brothers and Go the Medical Route . But that wasnt me , She told me I would waste My life chasing something that would never Happen .

Kendrick: Im Guessing you Proved her Wrong Lol

Amir: Actually No , She Passed away My Freshman Year of College . Cancer . Yet she had all the Degrees in the World Education for Miles . But Did she Really Live to the Fullest . After that I dropped out of college and Perused music .

Just as I Noticed the crushed look on Amir's Face , I felt a Vibration . It Took me Off Guard . Both Amir and I Looked Puzzled , Both Of our Phones had no Service earlier . I Pulled out my Phone and saw it was a text from Ant .

Text To Ant: Im Stuck in the Elevator

Text From Ant : With Amir !

Text To Ant : Unfortunately

Text From Ant: Well The Response People Just Showed up , so It Wont be Long , But I Dont think Cameron Is going to wait that Long .

Text To Ant: Please Ant , Hold him Off , Distract Him PLEASE


I Looked Down at my Last Message , and Notice It wasnt sending , It Kept saying Message failed . I Threw my Phone In Rage . F***k I Yelled , And started Trying to Pry the Doors Open with my hands . This was the Longest Response Team ever , I had to quickly get out of here , Before S***t hit the Fan with Cameron .

Amir: Calm Down

Kendrick: Calm Down , I cant Calm Down , Its Been Damn Near 30 Minutes Already . Being Trapped In this F***king Elevator With You Is the Worst .

Amir: Scared Yo Nigga Gone Find Out

He threw his Hands Up Like Ok Then . Just as he Did that the Lights Came back On , and the Elevator Jerked and started back Up . Thank God Free at Last Free At Last , Now I Need to Tell Cameron the Truth so I Could Truly Be Free Of all Guilt .



Cameron's POV


After Arriving to the Event , Kendrick Immediately split away from me , saying he was going to Find Ant , So I went over to the table with Rj and His Little Brother Aaron . A Little while after Ant Came back to the table yet with No Ken , he said something about Kendrick Went to the bathroom , so I Orderd us a Drink and waited . Minutes went by and I was So Into talking to Rj about the Up incoming season I Almost forgot that Kendrick hadnt return to the table . I Finished Off his Drink then Ordered two More . By the time I Finished my Drink , I had the Urge to Drink his , But something stopped me and that something wasnt a good feeling . Where the F***k was he , and Why was it taking 15 minutes to use the bathroom , when the place packed with mostly B***hes , its not like it was line to use the bathroom . I started to have Doubt like maybe he was up to something . As of Lately he has been a little Jumpy , and his Affection levels are off , somedays he wants to F***k like cats and Dogs and then some Days its like He's Distant from me . I Didnt like that Feeling , I know him well enough to Know when something wasnt Right . I Figured whatever Kendrick was up to Ant Knew , Hell He told His friends Everything .

Cameron: Where the F***k is Yo Friend

Ant: Oh umm , the Bathroom , Remember

Cameron: yea I remember 30 Minutes ago

Ant: 30 Minutes has it Really Been thirty Minutes

RJ: Whats Going On ?

I Got up from the table and started making my way threw the Packed room , that was growing irritated by the second , the show was suppose to start about 30 minutes ago . Ant Pulled his Phone out , and I could tell he was Covering up For Kendrick , I Didnt Know what these two was up to But I aint Dumb . Some Guys came through the room with Equipment Probably to Free Amir Dumb ass Out the Elevator , Nigga Probably was Drunk off his ass lol . Thats when Ant Grabbed My Arm .

Cameron: What Wrong ?

Ant: Dance With me

Cameron: Dance with you .

Ant: Yea this My Song

Cameron: Nigga , you Want me to dance with you , when Rj is literally feet away .

Ant: Nigga Its not like we slow Dancing , Crank that s***t up , Get Crunk

I Turned around to See Kendrick walking towards us .

Cameron: Where the Hell you Been

I Could tell Kendrick had something on his mind , but trying to get him to tell me was another thing , He said he wanted to talk so I was just gone let him Come to me when he was ready , in the Meantime , I was Thinking about This Video with Kelly F***king Rowland !

I think it makes for a better story if One person isnt always the innocent party , I want for you to dislike every character at least One time .
