old english: "lying awake before dawn and worrying about the day ahead."

your mind was racing but your body was frozen. you had a million thoughts racing through you mind about what the day held for you. it was interesting that only you could feel that comparison. it was extremely early in the morning. the sun hadn't risen yet but you were already wide awake. you laid on your back with your arms folded over your stomach as you stared at the ceiling.

"y/n?" ethan's deep voice croaked out, peeking an eye open to look at your unmoving but awake figure. you raised a brow but didn't reply. ethan slowly lifted himself out of the blankets as he sat up, rubbing his eyes furiously. he stretched his arms over his head as he let out a long yawn. "w-why are you awake so early?"

"just thinking." you said, your eyes trained on the ceiling. there was nothing remotely interesting on it. you were just so caught up in your thoughts that you had no clue what you were staring at.

"about?"

"the day. what we're gonna do. who we're gonna do it with. what we're gonna eat. who's cooking? whether or not we're buying take out. going out or staying in. what i'm gonna wear. what i'll post on my social medias." you rambled as you attempted to empty your mind. ethan just stared at you wide-eyed.

"just... go to sleep. you can think about this another time." ethan said, sleepiness obviously laced in his voice. you nodded lazily as ethan pulled you onto his chest while he laid on his back. his hands rubbed your arms comfortingly as you slowly felt yourself falling back into a state of unconsciousness.
