I sighed contently as I thought about how much as changed in the last couple of months. My kingdom had burned down, my whole family with it so I had come to Camelot, seeking refuge but instead I had found something else. I had found love in the form of Arthur Pendragon. To start we hid our love from everybody, including ourselves, but soon enough the King found out. We thought he was going to forbid us to see one another but we were wrong, very wrong. In fact he encouraged our relationship. He had us marry in a matter of weeks. I was happier than I had ever been in all my years, and that was thanks to Arthur.

Smiling to myself, I walked down the halls of my new found home and greeting anyone who I passed. I was happily staring down at my shoes when I walked into a hard chest. I looked up to see Arthur's man servant Merlin, someone whom I have become very close to. He held my arms upright as his features became confused at my appearance.

"You alright Merlin?" I questioned and he nodded, shaking his confusion off of his features.

"Yes, I just thought you would be somewhere else." He let my arms go as he stood up straight, going to move around me.

"Where else would I be?" I questioned grabbing his arm to stop him from walking away. "Merlin."

"I thought you were with Arthur and Uther." He started, sighing. I raised my eyebrows, indicating for him to continue. "They are discussing the kingdoms heir in the hall."

"Right." I answered, my grip on Merlin's arm relaxing. He shook himself free, sympathetically gazing at me, before turned on his heel and walked away. An emotion I knew all too well filled every ounce of me as I stalked towards the hall. I could hear their voices before I could seem and what I heard filled me with hurt and anger.

"The kingdom must have an heir." Uther said, a bored drawl and I suspected this was not the first time he had told this to Arthur.

"I understand that father but-" Arthur started before his father cut him off by raising a silencing hand. I stepped into the doorway as they continued talking, oblivious to the fact I was listening.

"Good. Then give me a heir Arthur. I don't care how, forcibly if you must, but it must be done." Uther turned to face Arthur therefore me as well. His hard features turned to shock as he saw me causing Arthur to turn around himself.

"Y/n." He said  stepping forwards toward me. Hurt caused my eyes to water with tears and I stepped away from him shaking my head. The tears now falling, I pressed my hand to my mouth so it was covering the sounds of my sobs as I ran from the men towards my chambers. I ignored everybody who called my name as I ran past them for I knew that if I stopped I would never get back up. I opened the door to my chambers forcibly before slamming it behind me. Still crying I fell to the floor in a heap when the door opened. Arthur stepped in, took one look at me before walking over and sitting next to me.  He reached over and his hands cupped my face while the pad of his thumb brushed the falling tears away. "I'm sorry."

"I can't give you what you want." I croaked out causing his features to turn to confusion. "Not yet anyway. I'm not ready."

"That is perfectly okay." He whispered, his blue eyes boring into mine.

"But your father-" I started but he cut me off with a short, sweet kiss.

"He can wait." He whispered and I smiled at him.

"Really?"

"Really. I am not going to pressure you into anything you don't want to do, never." I wrapped my arms around him, squeezing his torso as he rested his head on my chest. "I love you too much to do that."

"Thank you Arthur." I whispered into his chest.

"Anything for you."
