Chapter 119: A Quiet Moment
______________________________________________

My optics locked on the holographic screen and a heavy spark beat in my chest as I watched Autobots get torn apart and gunned down on the display ahead.

"Oh, that's Leadfoot." Hound muses somberly.

I took a deep breath to still my nerves as Leadfoot's leg is blown off before he is showered with heavy gunfire. With Skids and Mudflap being smaller bots they are easily overpowered and blown to bits. First Aid pleads for mercy as he is gunned down.

"Savages." Hound mutters as he places his helmet over his chest in respect. Dad snatches his gaze from the display, unable to stomach their gruesome deaths much longer.

My optics began to fill with tears when the screen switched to Sunstreaker's brutalized body. His optics were lifeless and his chest...it was dark. I sucked in an angry breath when the humans began to circle his body.

Unable to control my anger much longer, I stormed away from the group and placed myself behind one of the massive boulders surrounding us.

Tears blurred my vision but I refused to let any fall as I paced back and forth, trying to contain my temper.

Those filthy, disgusting, backstabbing, puny humans! They killed MY FAMILY! No sympathy for others! They don't even have sympathy for their own kind! Like I'd be surprised how much a human would be willing to kill just for control!

"Streaks, please no streaks," I whispered, clenching my fists. "Hide, J-Jazz, Prowl...all of them!" I slammed a fist into the rock, refusing to acknowledge the black and yellow mech standing off to the side.

"I hate humans! I hate humans! I hate them! I hope this planet goes up into flames!"

I swiftly wiped away my tears before they could fall. There was no time for tears in a war!

I spared the mech a glance. "Go away."

It wasn't true. I didn't want my brother to go away. I haven't seen him in years and the last thing I wanted him to do was leave. I missed him, but I knew why he was here.

I continued to pace, my steps becoming heavy and fierce. "Stupid humans! They're gonna get what they're asking for! I'm gonna find out who did this! And once I do-Bee!"

Beeping softly, my brother grabbed hold of my wrists, forcing me to look at him. :: Calm down, calm down.::

Seriously? I paused and stared at him in disbelief. "T-The humans, they're killing our family and you expect me to calm down?"

Bee shook his head and reached for me to pull me in a hug but I pushed against his chest. "N-No. Stop trying to baby me. I'm 15. I'm not a little girl anymore, Bee."

But I was unconsciously leaning towards him.

::Hey.:: I looked down at the servo that was offered to me before bringing my gaze to meet his optics. I blinked once I realized what Bee was really doing.

He wasn't trying to treat me like a child and provide me comfort like a baby. I looked into his baby blue optics and I could see that he too was suffering like I was.

He was hurting. I was hurting. We both were hurting. It was then that I realized that Bee was younger than I thought him to be. He didn't want to baby me, he wanted to share our pain.

Without a word, we both stepped into each other's embrace. My arms squeezed his neck and his arms rubbed soothing lines and circles along my back.

"I'm sorry." I laid my head on his shoulder as he patted my wings to reassure me. "I'm glad you're okay. I missed you."
