Pic of Ashley and Kiba  ---> (I drew it myself and I kinda really like it >_<)

Third Person's POV

Kiba sighs lightly, crossing his arms over his chest as he leans his back against the wall, tired eyes focused down on the floor. A faint buzzing sound emits from behind one of the many closed doors in the hallway, hushed voices mumbling and faint footsteps echoing off of the white walls.

Ashley had been sedated and taken into the surgery theatre over ten hours ago, and Lady Tsunade herself had been heading the operation. Shizune and multiple other notable Medic Ninja had also been in attendance, though Kiba knew that if she hadn't been sent away on a mission, Sakura definitely would have been one of the Hokage's first choices to help her during the surgery.

While Ashley was now back in her room, asleep and recovering from the experimental operation on her eyes, Kiba had no idea how she would be when she woke up. Shizune had assured him that the surgery had gone well, considering it was the first time it had ever been performed on a human, though that didn't really make Kiba feel much better.

The surgery itself may have gone well, but that didn't necessarily mean that Ashley's eyesight was going to be restored. It may all have just been a waste of time........Kiba was trying not to think negatively though. Whether she had her sight or not, the Inuzuka was just glad that Ashley was back home and he would love her either way. It wasn't like he had fallen in love with the girl for her eyesight anyway......

Hearing footsteps approaching, Kiba raises his head, only for his mouth to pull down into a slight frown.

"......You're too early" the brunette muses, raising one eyebrow as someone comes to a stop beside him. "She's not awake yet."

"I didn't think she would be" Shikamaru replies coolly, one hand shoved in his pocket. "I was visiting Kurenai Sensei and decided to come and wait until she does wake up."

"Hmph...." Kiba grunts, subtly rolling his eyes and looking back down at the floor. ".....She might not want to see anyone you know."

"Feeling too guilty?" Shikamaru questions, tilting his head to the side as the Inuzuka quickly reopens his eyes and glares up at him.

"She's not the bad guy here ya know" Kiba defends, to which Shikamaru chuckles softly and nods. "She only did all that stuff to-"

"To save Sasuke and protect her friends" the Nara interjects knowingly. "Yeah I know. Lady Tsunade already spoke to me remember? I just know Ashley well enough to know that she'll be feeling bad about everything she had to do. She puts up a tough front, but we all know how much she cares about us."

Kiba bristles with annoyance at the faint smile on Shikamaru's lips, before pausing and mulling over the boy's words. It wasn't as if he'd spoken a lie. All of Ashley's friends knew how much she cared, despite her sarcastic and brash attitude.

Heaving a sigh, Kiba raises his head and rests it back against the wall, giving the roof a troubled look.

"......She's pretty emotional at the moment" the brunette informs Shikamaru, who also leans his back against the wall. "It's almost weird seeing her so fragile like that, coz she's usually so strong and.......I dunno. She usually just doesn't make her emotions so obvious."
